I was under the distinction that Wakanda wasn't a highly advanced nation but simply kept on par with the Western powers due to their spy network until T'Chaka and T'Challa made it the advanced power it is today.

Hudlin makes it out that Wakanda is thousands of years ahead of every nation in the world.
Canon prior to Hudlin, Wakanda had their stuff in one sock, but didn't become the tech giant it is untill the last century. They were ALWAYS a little ahead of their active enemies.

Accepting anything that tries to meet the end of having a Black Panther book is horrible. Because of Hudlin interest in the Black Panther book and character has gone down dramatically and will take drastic measures to fix when he is replaced.
??
Not accepting.
Prefering "some to none."

I listed my issues with this run Many times.

Was never my point.

Peace.

That's a lot better than the crap Hudlin is doing by having them so far advanced.

And seriously, if Wakanda got into a fight with the United States it would get its ass handed.

nah.

in Priests Panther it was established that just the subs Wakanda had roughly the size of the Jupiter two from lost in space could whoop the US.
Wakanda has a plan and the tech to take down galactus,... the US never did.

Kinda pointless since Hudlin already had the US back down from a direct confrontation with the Panther.

Realistically there is no way Wakanda can win in a fight against the United States because it would have the backing of SHIELD and has superior technology thanks to Reed Richards and Tony Stark, both of whom are smarter and have better technology than T'Challa.

And there would also probably be some serious doubts in the Wakandan leadership on account that the Queen is an American.

American by way of Cairo. I've always thought of Storm as more African than African-American, except during her mohawk years.

She was still born in the US and spent maybe a little under a decade living in New York (give or take missions in other countries, that time the X-Men lived in Australia, and the months she spent in Rogue's house in California [which is still in the States, anyway]).

True, but she never really gives off an American impression. She seems more exotic. Writers have played that up, too. I remember when I briefly made the mistake of reading Claremont's Uncanny X-Men again, there was a nice scene with the X-Men doing whatever they do around the mansion and Storm was tending to an indoor garden, effectively shirking anything to do with modern American society.

True, but try telling that to the Wakandans. It's bad enough she's an outsider, but if they ever went to war with the US, they'll know exactly where her citizenship lies.

Yeah the wakandans are more phobic of other nations then everyone else combined. I won't go as far to say racist cause they don't seem to like other african's either but it still always seemed dickish to possess the ability to help all of africa (during one of the greatest massacres in the history of time) and just do nothing whatsoever.

The tech thing I feel is far too advanced. If they can handle galactus then where's the drama. Even batman losses occasionally, but with panther you just know he'll pull out some device and take it with ease. It's just not exciting to watch someone steamroll over everyone. Some people like that stuff (hulk fans) but most people like their heroes to actually have to overcome a challenge greater than them and BP doesn't have that. If I fight a seven year old crippled kid, it's not heroic, I'm just beating down someone that doesn't have a chance. Heroism comes in facing something greater than yourself, something you shouldn't defeat but you fight anyway. Wakanda is a built in cosmic cube basically so it sucks any real suspense out of the equation instantly just by existing.

Xenophobic?

Besides have her people herded into the equivalent of an internment camp, and watched over by walking burning crosses.

Shield the supposedly multi-national agency would automatically back America against Wakanda?

Reed Richards -"Friend" of the Black Panther would (for the first time in Marvel history) loan/provide his tech to over-run a country because the US would be feeling froggy?

OKAY.
I don't see it happening since Both of those "resourses" require a better reason than "lets go beat them up" - but I'm thinking that Since Wakanda has a history of letting you bring the fight to them that they would beat America.

When I remember priests run where the Panther beat Ironman THREE times in fights that Tony started EACH TIME, I don't think his being "smarter" plays much into this.

I would think SHIELD would stay out of individual nations' wars. Or, if they did intervene, it'd be as an impartial moderator to any peace talks. But, sadly, the way SHIELD is portrayed now, they probably would back the US.

Yes because:

1. SHIELD has backed the United States against Atlantis in the Sub-Mariner mini.

2. The United States provides the vast majority of SHIELD funding to the point that they do whatever the hell the US says now.

Reed Richards and T'Challa were on opposite sides during the Civil War and even though he probably wouldn't personally loan his tech out, the US' technological dominance in the Marvel Earth is because of Reed Richards and Tony Stark.

Also Reed Richards is a part of the Initiative and with his more recent characterization, do you really think he'd stand up against the government?

OKAY.

Again, SHIELD is America's *****, the Initiative has created a superpowered army, Iron Man and Stark Industries, and Mr. Fantastic. The United States realistically should be unbeatable against any Earthly enemy nation. Even against Wakanda which overall just has the brilliant mind of T'Challa and an excellent military.

Seriously what Priest and Hudlin are did/doing to Black Panther makes Batgod look tame in comparison :o

I wonder which one is gonna be played into the show.

Funny thing?
BP has ALWAYS been like that,... From the begining when he took down the FF.

So you really can't blame Priest or Hudlin.

Ridiculous. Priest always showed a common sense, logical point to all of BP's victories. Be it tech or just outsmarting his opponent. McDuffie only really had that ******ed Silver Surfer reverse chicken wing.

The Surfer just didn't want to f*** T'Challa's s*** up, so he let him think he had him in an armlock. If the Surfer twitched, BP would've been sailing past Saturn in no time. :o
