The Official Black Widow Casting Threads

Yeah she has a few posts up, you even responded to that post.

Actually I suggested her as one posssibility in my initial list. It was just so long ago I forgot whether I had.

There was a short news item that David Hayter handed in his final script yesterday:

David Hayter, who is writing and directing the Black Widow movie for Marvel and Lions Gate, told The Continuum there is progress on the film.

"I just submitted the final draft of the script, and it has been received very postively," Hayter told The Continuum. "We are supposed to sit down and discuss casting this week."

It looks like this might be the next Marvel project filmed after X-Men 3.

I looked over the list of women that we had and somebody that I totally forgot about was Alexandra Maria Lara. She's probably the best Eastern European actress that I can think of...by far.

If you don't know AML, she's a Romanian actress that moved to Germany and is quite popular there and yes, she has done English projects. Right now she's doing Francis Ford Coppola's latest movie.

She seems attractive but not "hot" in the Hollywood sense. THX for th info on the development

Ouch. :(

I'd say that Alexandra is on par with somebody like Ashley Judd or Natascha McElhone both for looks and acting ability.

so, villain-wise should they bother with anyone from the comics or come up with an original foe(s)?

and should she have the wrist-gadgets or no? (I vote yes)

Heheh, who said that? Oh yeah, it was me. :o:(:O

I guess that they put this movie off...again. Oh well, maybe if they keep putting it off, there will be a few half decent female superhero/action movies between now and BW's release that will help offset all the negativity that recent lame girl-power attempts have created.

Rebecca Romijn,Angelina Jolie, and Jaime Pressly are my top 3 for Black Widow.

I see somebody more along the lines of Sienna Guillory as Black Widow. She stood out in the last Resident Evil movie and is about the right age for the character. Kata Dobo might be okay as well. She seems to be the closest to what Tasha should actually look and sound like.

Just a side note, everybody knows how big a Black Widow fan David Hayter is, well Vera Vanguard is probably Tasha's #2 fan.

It would be hella cool of David if he could find some small role in his movie for Vera. Possibly as Tasha's mother, after all, Vera is both Russian and has red hair... :)

Hey that's that cosplay Black Widow. :D Wow, I never knew that she was Russian and into martial arts too.

If there is a small cameo role that she could do, I guess that it would make sense to get Vera rather than some random Russian actress.

you people are being extra sad, please stop, and please entertaining the notion fat chicks who go to comic conventions are going to get cast in movie star roles.

^^ Meh. I was just agreeing to the idea that I could see her doing a small cameo that might call for somebody that could actually speak Russian. Nobody said anything about a starring role.

It's no nuttier than some of the other recent ways that people have been cast in comic adaptations. How many models have we seen get walk on roles when they don't know or care anything about the characters that they are playing?

Hypothetically speaking, what difference would it be to give her two or three spoken lines as opposed to some other Russian actress or more likely in this case, some actress from BC mumbling a few words phonetically to sound Russian? :O

All three of them are great choices, but in the end Romijn is Widow for me.

"NATASHA HENSTRIDGE" has both modern & classic look for this character, she is my very first choice since the day i heard about this project.I truly believe that she got potential & guts to do this type of role because as the way NATASHA is so attractive, sexy, talented - her natural blond hair & green/blue eyes - a good height & a gorgeous body physique plus she can also kick some butts too"!!!..., really makes her damn perfect for this role.

I agree.

I'm hearing that Charlize Theron is now in negotiations for starring in Black Widow. Can anybody confirm?

This seems like a really odd rumour considering how poorly Aeon Flux did this past January.

Of the names brought in here, I liked very much the following:

Izabella Scorupco
Evangeline Lilly
Jamie Pressly
Melinda Clarke

It looks to me like Black Widow is pretty much dead. It's not even on Marvel's slate of films. There haven't been any updates for a very long time either.

Rebecca Romijn would be my pick. She evidently wants the part (according to Avi Arad) and she'd be good in it - in terms of both physicality and attitude.

The only thing that I could find on Charlize Theron dealing with Black Widow was the Stax casting idea article from IGN. Where did you hear this from?

Rebecca Romijn is my choice, Krista allen would be 2nd
