The only thing that I could find on Charlize Theron dealing with Black Widow was the Stax casting idea article from IGN. Where did you hear this from?

An online comic vendor had that Black Widow casting rumour listed. Given all the conventions that these vendors must go to and all the people that they hear from maybe they had heard something that the rest of us hadn't. It's pretty far off the beaten path as far as rumour sources but i figured that I'd ask around and see if anybody else here had heard anything.

Charlize is also in talks for a movie that Brian Bendis is writing...I wonder if somehow they got their stories mixed up.

Personally, I wouldn't mind Charlize, but like I said before Aeon Flux didn't do too well so maybe a fresh face would be a better casting route.

I was thinking eva green as well. I like Rebecca & Fakme, but they have already played major roles in the marvel universe. My first choice would be Kate Beckinsale, followed by Milla, then Jaime. I like Jessica Beil but she doesn't fit the role. She is more "Black Cat" than "Black Widow".

I don't think Kate Nauta(Transporter 2) would be a bad choice either. Die her hair red and add a couple of pounds to her. I don't know if she can do a Russian accent though.

Milla Jovovich was born for this role, it'll be good for her to do something with better substance and something different from virus related issues but I don't see it happening. We just need a looker, red hair and russian accent and we're all good.

The only actress I can think of that would be right for the role is Eliza Dushku. I'm very picky when it comes to fictional slavic women, and any actress that doesn't look slavic playing this role would absolutely ruin it for me.

Don't see why. She can fight, she's pretty, she can fill out a PVC catsuit, she's got slavic facial features, and she's a good enough actress for a third-tier Marvel character. We've never seen her do accents, but that's just because there aren't a lot of accented roles for actresses in her age group.
