First Avenger The Official Captain America Critic's Review Thread - Part 1

It's funny how some folks were worried ppl around the world would stay away from this movie because it was too "pro-america". From the reviews I've read this Steve Rogers is exactly how other ppl would love to see Americans as, and I think believe how they used to be (but probably weren't).

A very annoying complaint. That being said, it would probably not be so prevalent if Cap was making waves like TDK did.

Would it have helped people if they called all of these The Avengers: Captain America .... The Avengers: Thor ...... I mean cmon .... they keep acting like they're surprised .......

The whole goal was for the team up. They act like the movies get choked out because of it and end up like Green Lantern quality.

Now RT is 50%. I think anyway there's some problem on RT, because I don't see positive reviews but only negative. And now they are 6 fresh and 6 rotten.

This film I believe just won't be for everyone alot of people just will look at the type of character cap is and feel he is generic because he doesn't have the type of flaws all the other superheroes have but it's what Cap stands for that makes him special. But not everyone can grasp that. But I do feel it will end up "Fresh"

Mix in some Red Grenadine, some White Rum, and whatever makes an Aqua Velva (Zodiac) Blue.

Some Bailey's, layer on Blue Curacao, then drop some grenadine...?

Red white and blue, and tastes like orange chocolate!

BTW, I think it was a mistake for Marvel to not have the post credit scene in the critics showing, because in one review I saw someone say "there is no post credit scene". Hopefully they will make it clear by Friday so no one misses out.

Peter Sciretta of Slashfilm said their screening didn't have one either.

Yeah one of CBR's biggest complaints was that Steve Rogers is too "bland" to carry 2 hours

ROGER MOORE's review has FINALLY been posted in Rotten Tomatoes.

By the way, I count 7 fresh now, but it's still displaying 6.

PS

Btw... why are all the Rottens displayed on the top? While the Fresh are all on the bottom?

My predictions= Top critics only: slightly Rotten
Overall: Fresh

Reviews are probably going to wind up mixed.

In the critics section they still have only posted 4 rotten and 2 fresh .... I used to like RT a lot .... starting to lose a little respect from me. If they've got 6 rotten and 6 fresh in, then they should be posted.

^yea the number count has gone up, but they are only showing those bad ones on the main page, RT sucks, always has

however, I do tend to think it may be just the influx of reviews which were needlessly embargoed till the last minute that is causing the lag over there, conspiracies are perhaps a bit far fetched

but yeah, that site sucks, and i mean, the website itself, it's buggy, never loads properly.
someone has to de-throne RT as the leading review aggregator

4 of the Rotten reviews are on the top front page of Rotten Tomatoes.

While only 2 Fresh reviews are displayed on the very bottom.

Nice

Relax. It just takes a few minutes to update. All the fresh and rotten comments will appear, eventually.

Goddamit how can this be happening. Everything about this movie and early word is perfect. What's with these critics

*checking back into the thread*

Yup. Still need another drink.

Anyone wanna join me? ;)

It's not the critics, it's rotten tomatoes. There are a lot of positive reviews out there that they haven't posted yet for some reason.

excellent. **** those RT critics. Anyone who gives this movie a negative review is now un-patriotic

Rotten Tomatoes seems like it updated some of the reviews on the main cap page, but they say they have 7 positive reviews and 6 negative, and they are showing 6 of the positive reviews and 6 of the negative ones. The only review I see they are missing currently from the ones they say they have is Roger Moore's from the Orlando Sentinel. You can see his review however if you click on the link that says Top Critics.

I think the negative reviews are going to get buried for the most part, but it is a shame that they started out with the negative. I hope for about 75% to 80% positive.

You get used banned in your title? :argh:

Perks. I got em.

I really hope not but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest...I'd like to think that a week is plenty long enough for people to get that whole 'Harry Potter' nonsense out of their system, but who knows :woot:

I think its very possible considering how big Potter is.

It's rotten already? That's RT for you.
Gotta judge it for yourself is my motto.

That might explain the embargo though
