Emilia Clarke for Carol Ferris!
Also, to do Star Sapphire justice, you have to use Hal Jordan. Yet another reason why Hal is the only way to go for the lead of the GL movie. He has the relationships with Sinestro and Star Sapphire, two of the biggest GL villains ever. Using John as the main character squanders the potential of both Star Sapphire and Sinestro.
Yeah but my point is the relationship between Hal and Star is far stronger than Star and John's relationship.Star Saphire killed John's wife though in the comics so there is a connection there too to be exploited if they so choose.
Mila Kunis or Olivia Wilde for Carol

This last character is interesting, because weve just seen her portrayed on screen in Green Lantern, with Blake Lively in the role.
One of the last scenes in Man of Steel features a conversation between Superman and a military officer. That officer is accompanied by a lower-ranking woman, Major Carrie Farris, played by Christina Wren. Ferriss comment that Superman is kind of hot, combined with her name, is being read as a revision of the Carol Ferris character from Green Lantern. Why would that be a big deal? Well, Farris has an alter-ego, Star Sapphire, who has been both villain and hero.
Now, since Warner Bros. and DC are in control of both the original Carol Ferris character and the Green Lantern film, as well as Man of Steel, theres no reason that MoS couldnt have given the character a full reboot. Its not like theres a big rights issue in the way. So this could be more of a sly nod than a pointer to the future. Seems like a pretty obvious nod to make if thats all the character is meant to be, however.
MEW is my N.1 (another actor/actress in expect to work for Marvel first) but I really like Patton. Not sure how big a role she would have in a movie centered on Hal and John, though.
To make it work they need a very solid cast. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is a terrific actress who could fit the role.

She is breathtaking. By the time the movie comes out she would be around 45, but if they do go with an older Hal, makes total sense for Carol to be older too, after all they are supposed to be the same age. If Lois Lane can be played by an actress in her 40s, they can do that with any other DC love interest. In the milf department, you can't ask for more than Paula Patton.
