The Official Checkmate thread

You must though, for its the awesomness of Checkmate.

I see there is buzz about that Rick Flag dude, but I'm surprised there isn't more buzz around here about Mirror Master doing blow. I mean that was pretty surprising to me that they actually showed the guy DOING IT! :wow:

Wasnt that introduced in Johns run of The Flash. Thats why I wasnt that surprised.

I missed some of Johns earlier run on The Flash, so it's possible that I did not even see that before. Shocked the hell out of me that they actually showed it though.

It didn't shock me because I didn't take it as him really doing it. To me it seems like it was a cover up to the fact that he was using a mirror and all of them were supposed to be isolated. I wouldn't be surprised if Mirror Master is betraying them.

Yeah. Captain Cold kicked his ass for it.

i thought he was off the drugs a year ago but now i want to know what happened to the rogues
why captain boomerang joined the outsiders?
what happen to Captain Cold, Heat Wave and Trickester?
And what caused Mirror Master relaps into drugs?

So what did everyone think of the latest issue?

Where is the LOVE for this title, people? Don't be getting all lazy on me now. :cmad:

The last issue was all right. Not really up to the standard of Checkmate, I thought. Everything kind of went off as I thought it would, with Waller duping all of the heroes and villains involved into restarting the Suicide Squad to be her covert ops arm on a permanent basis. Plus, I really miss Alan already. :(

I actually liked the issue a lot, but not enough of actual Checkmate.

I wonder if Harl's still alive. Barring some kind of fatal disaster, I didn't think he would be taking so long to hop on the Hype and talk about how badass Bronze Tiger was.

Probably still pissed about Rick Flag being alive.

I really dont care, I dont put Ostrander's Suicide Squad run on a pedestal or anything.

I'm sad to admit I haven't picked the issue up yet. When I went to my new LCS they didn't have it, so I'm going to wait till I get my monthly online order to pick it up. I'm not really all that pissed about the return of Flag, but I'm just kind of disappointed they couldn't keep him dead.

And Ostrander's run on the Suicide Squad rocked damnit! :o

What's everyone think of the Pawn 502 storyline? Pretty interesting approach with a nice beginning of racist white people getting bit by rattlesnakes.

Bump to the 20th power!

So what is everyone thinking of Checkmate now? It's been an extemely long time people lets get the discussion back up and running.

We got to see Bane pretty much get owned and they're FINALLY onto Waller. I can't wait until that chunky black Rosie O'Donnell looking hag gets offed, or at least ***** slapped.

This book just keeps getting better, but this crossover with the Outsiders has all the ingredients to suck.

The last issue was awesome, I love how Rucka threads politics into the book without any of it feeling like soapboxing. Tommy is a hardass and I wish to see more - I really didn't think he would walk away from Bane which surprised me.

And oh God ... Outsiders :(

Man, Waller needs to be dropped like a bad habit.
