HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I love the WTF?! face Galactus has on that cover!:D

Yeah, maybe a planet is giving him indigestion.

"DO NOT SPEAK TO ME OF GAS! GALACTUS HAS EXISTED BEFORE FLATULANCE WAS!"

How does this tie in to Storm and Black Panther being on the team?

yeah, I was wondering that myself. I'm not sure what Marvel hopes to accomplish by producing these mock covers when they've already released the Storm/Black Panther artwork.

Storm and Black Panther are also the only members that correspond with Wizard's Civil War quiz that they released back in March not to mention that both Wizard and Dynamic Forces are already selling CGC graded copies on their respective sites.

What the hell is the Thing standing on?

Oh yeah, nice waist on the Surfer. He looks so lithe.

A return of Kristoff Vernard could be cool.

And I do wonder if Marvel is playing some catch-up to counteract some of their spoiler tactics. Maybe rethinking some things and allowing McDuffie more toys to play with?

Or, like I said, Thing & Torch sort of have a "try out" for a while before Panther & Storm become locks. I mean NEW AVENGERS saw HOW many issues before the actual team assembled? Who expected the new FF to not follow suit? Pfft, if JLA is any indication if we see an actual roster by the 7th issue we should thank our lucky stars.

They actually did that one before... I forget which one but I think it was an avengers cover.

BTW when I first saw the "new" FF picture my first thought was "Galactus is joining the FF? WTF?" Then reason set in... It'd still be pretty cool though :p

Well, two pics have been shown so far of the "new" fantastic four. One has Black Panther, Storm, Human Torch, and the Thing while another has Silver Surfer, Stardust, Human Torch, and the Thing.

Well, what is your ideal FF roster? Mine is Daredevil, She-Hulk, Human Torch, and Black Panther.

The FF isn't an institution. It's four specific individuals who traverse creation in search of the unknown and unusual. You can't have roster changes. At least, not real ones. You can have "Ben goes away on vacation for a few weeks to Jennifer Walters stops by to help out a bit," but that's it.

Heres my idea,

A guy made of rock.

A invisible chick.

A kid who lights on fire.

Oh how about a stretchy dude.

I agree wholeheartedly. The Fantastic Four are Marvel's first family, and the team that essentially began their universe in 1961. The sheer fact that their formula has been ripped off by outside media so many times is proof of that. However, the current Marvel is not about honoring the past, but destroying it, or at least using destructive, soul-crushing mannerisms to bring about a status quo much like the late 60's, where everyone was a potential enemy, only with none of the levity and twice as much cynicism. The only time you hear a writer mentioning their rich history, it's usually to justify some new "shocking" change ("Hey, I, Lord Bendis, am perfectly justified to have Forbush Man get murdered by Red Skull, who joins the New Avengers. Just look at Stan putting in Black Widow..."). Unfortunately, having the Four be a family of explorers with 40 years of history behind them is not something Marvel wants anymore. It's more fun to destroy. Rich history to them only means it brings more weight to destroy it. And they are counting on their fans, and their devotion, to always return no matter what is destroyed, how many comics are late, or how many time the EIC and others provoke them with half truths and then snicker about it later. To Marvel, their fans are suckers. And they're right. We are. Hell, I can't even dump USM, and I hate it like a mugging.

Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and Thing. I'd even allow Franklin to hit puberty. Valeria's fine. Written correctly, not as fascist weenies, out there going on adventures.

The original F4 are the best roster. It's not broken, no need to fix the team. They all play off of each other perfectly, and represent the elements. Their personality types mix well, and they play the family theme better than any other team in comics. I can't imagine another 4 paired together that could produce the same results. F4 may not be my favorite team (tho their up there), but they fill the role the books meant to play near perfectly.

Besides the Original 4?

Well you still need at least two of them in an idel team

Reed, Sue, Scott Lang (Ant-man) and She Hulk....Oh and she Hulk and Scott would be dating.....And uh....Scott wouldn't be Dead.

You know they're gonna bring Scott back. After all, the new Antman film is gonna star him. I can understand them not bringing Vision back in favor of Vision 2.0.... but why was Scott forgotten in all this?

I will say...Kristoff Vernard was one of my favorite FF hangers on. Not a member of some other team filling in, he was Doom's andriod-taught hier arrogantly making his way in the world. He hasn't been seen in a decade.

Y'know who would make a good FF?

Ben, Johnny, Guardian and Vindicator

I'd like it if he somehow came back, but I honestly think he is a rare character that will stay dead for a good long while, if not forever. If Wanda ever gets her Marbles back she could easily bring him back to life.

MC2. He was in a few Spider-Girl issues around the time of the FF movie.
