um new guy, Dougie is the Surfer why woould you want to get someone who is the CGI director sign a poster when you can have the actor who provided the reference for the character do it.

Even if Doug's voice is not used I have to follow the precedent set by David Hyde Peirce and recognize that the character was and is personified by doug Jones and we will accept no others.

DOUG JONES IS THE SURFER, period

Tsk, Highguard - Doug didn't do ref-cap for the part. ;) Naughty Highguard. :D

I have high hopes he'll probably do the voice, but Fox haven't made it official yet.

But yeah ... Doug Jones ... SILVER SURFER.

Thanks Hellmistress. I will definately get pics btw at the screening. I understand he's not doing the intro to the 10PM show that I'm attending but I will get to meet him after before the midnight showing.
 
hmmm from the blurry trailer it seems like the SFX for human torch didn't look believable enough and amazing as people say.

BUT my final judgement will be based when i actually get to see a superb quality TEASER.
 
Just saw it with Night at the Museum. Surfer looked really cool, couldn't tell the had pupils in the teaser. Also I think they improved on the Torch's flame effects a bit in this movie.

He's just about the nicest guy you could hope to meet. They don't come any better than Doug Jones, I can tell ya. A very special fellow.

It's a shame Guillermo's not going to be there too - he's a hoot! Great guy and disgracefully intelligent, chewing the fat with GdT is like packing a 3-year film course at college into about 4 hours - and you learn more, too!

I can tell that the surfer effects are better on Torch in the Blurry one... it looks more detailed anyway/
 
I don't want to see NATM, so I wll probably sneak into the theater to catch to trailer, and leave to see something else.
 
I love how this "teaser will be online a few days later" is back firing on fox with a bootleg of the teaser. How did they not see that one coming?
 
Off topic question for those that has seen Night At The Museum. Was the Rush Hour 3 trailer included ?

Hellmistress you get me every time. You are right and you have the power (knowlege), feel free to correct me everytime. You have sweetness in you even when you must correct us.

And yeah I saw one of DOug's interviews and I always respect people who are passionate about their craft.

Fox did good on this casting. I hope he gets the voice as I am sure he could create the voice they need to if the want.

Fox respect the man.

Umm that happened to Sony as well you know. :)

Regardless Sony's was leaked about a month to soon. Atleast this one is only 3 days.

Besides it's always about video quality in the end.

^^ Well I am off to get something to eat, I get to see the movie tomorrow so I will have to live vicariously through those others (Willie, AD and others) until I can get my FF2 fix.

Its been a good week guys, It just keeps coming, Surfer looks cool, trailer looks cool I hear, filming is wrapping up.

I have my christmas present.

Tom Rothman we love you baby, now as zero and others said, get us that trailer online soon, you want to enjoy the holidays don't you?

..........ummmm yeah Miss haitee thats the doll of Rothman you requested, but hold off a while, lets see how this thing plays out, lets see how the weekend shapes up, after that well yeah that large 2 inch pin should do the trick, but remember he must live........... just a while longer

and don't worry Rothman is not really Sata... um you know, hahah, there should'nt be any problems... by the way check in with me every 2 hours, yeah I love the sound of your voice thats it...yeah.

Doug Jones has not done any motion capture, reference capture or green screen leotard work on the Silver Surfer. The design of the Surfer is BOTH Practical FX (Spectral Motion) and Visual FX (WETA), and Doug has done the job on set of performing the role, exactly the same as the other members of the cast. As to the Surfer's voice ... he has performed the voice on set as he would any other acting role, but Fox has yet to confirm officially that his will be the voice of the Surfer.

But no matter what you say ...

Doug Jones IS The Silver Surfer.
