I feel obliged to remind everyone, however, that Stan Lee did not create the Silver Surfer. Jack Kirby did. He decided Galactus should have a herald and drew the Surfer into the story he and Stan had discussed. Stan himself has said this in many interviews.
Yes, Stan provided dialogue for the character; but who and what the Surfer is, all that was determined by Jack before Stan even knew the character existed.

Seriously, just go see NATM, everybody. It's about what you'd expect, and all things considered, it didn't hurt that bad.

And not to be maudlin, but it's probably the last time we're gonna see Dick Van Dyke and Mickey Rooney on screen. These guys really add something to an otherwise by-the-numbers family flick.
And if you do see it, stay through the credits to see Mickey Rooney and Van Dyke doing their dance number. Has to be seen.

The other people complaining that Story was too faithful, hhahahahh mindboggling.

Yeah in an interview on youtube some place Kirby modeled Galactus on a God concept, someone with unlimited power. I think that since God has his archangels and of course his Son in the biblical story who comes first and prepares the world before reaping we can see what Kirby was thinking.
