I think I like Escape, but it's pretty much the trippiest **** in the world. And not like "Cosmic Vampire Gods!" trippy, but just trippy. If you're into old school Tresser/Cameron Chase/Rick Flag/Waller/whatever, it's probably gold.

I only picked up Dance from the Aftermath books. Have to say I'm digging it but I'm a big Casey fan.

Maybe I'll check oiut Escape too - sounds interesting at least.

I don't know. My bronze age legion knowledge is pretty weak.

Oh that was "Giant Space Mobey Dick" a totally different space whale.
Also no relation to "Giant Sized Man-Thing"

QUESTION: In “The Flash Rebirth,” why does the return of Barry Allen absolutely have to come at the expense of Wally West? There is a laundry list of things that have been done to devalue Wally as a character since Barry’s return and as a huge fan of the Flash, I just have to ask, why is it that Barry Allen can’t be made into a viable character based on his own strengths?

ANSWER: I sense an unwavering bias in your tone so I don’t think anything I say here will change your mind, but I hope through “Rebirth” and “Blackest Night” you see the value to who Barry Allen is. That said, Wally and his family have lots of developments coming and are still a central part to the Flash universe.

I do not see the necessity of bringing back Barry allen. Nor Didio, nor G.Johns made a good argument except that they were both fan of the silver age and wanted to work with Barry. I'm fine with this even if I disagree, that is has to mean "killing" Wally as THE Flash.
But when a fan asked a justified question, G.Johns replies with twist. I do not find the question more biased than his behavior about bringing back Barry Allen. In the end I find the question crucial and very interesting. I would have loved to see the reply.
In my opinion it would be ok to have 2 Flashes together. That would be original, IMO.
There was no need of bringing back Barry Allen.

Well, both the question and the answer are pretty bias ways of putting each statement, but the still fact is that there has to be The Flash at some point. Even if they presented two books and stated them of equal value one would eventually pull forward, whether through creative team work or audiences preferring one to the other, and that would lead to one being held higher than the other.

I mean we've had two Flashes all this time. Jay Garrick is still pumping along, but he's not The Flash. He's still relevant and plays a role in the DCU, but he's minimized. There's a dozen or so Green Lanterns, but Hal Jordan is considered The Green Lantern, etc.

And just to clarify, I'm talking more of the perceived line of DC execs/writers, that kind of thing. I'm sure there's still fans and readers who consider Jay or Wally The Flash and Kyle Rayner or Alan Scott The Green Lantern from their runs, but eventually there'll always be a main [insert legacy name here] when we have more than one of said legacy characters

I've decided that Flash's rogues are the s***iest villains in all of comics.

I mean, they're interesting characters, but as villains? They couldn't suck more. I mean, they spend all their time either being pissed off at one of their own, trying really hard not to piss off any super-heroes, or hiding from pissed-off super-heroes. And honestly, how many of them present Flash with a true threat? Only the ones with super-speed themselves, and they aren't even official rogues. I wish Flash would get some new, REAL villains.

Zoom was a great new(ish) villain for the Flash. But he's gotten nerfed and will probably be forgotten in favor of Professor Zoom, Barry Allen's evil twin! :whatever:

The new Turtle was pretty awesome as well. Not an official Rogue, though. Weather Wizard and Mirror Master could be truly dangerous if they weren't busy hiding out all the time.

I like the Flash's rogue there not threats to the Flash but there a fun bunch of villains. As far as enemies go that are threats to the him Vandall Savage is a good one he use to be one of Barry's nemesis. I haven't really followed Wally much except for a couple comics here and there.

Johns says "I want to do the same thing with Flash that we've done with Green Lantern," adding that he's going to be doing Flash, and Sterling Gates will be writing Kid Flash. They'll be writing in close contact with each other, a la Johns on Green Lantern and Peter J. Tomasi on Green Lantern Corps.
I was like, who is this freak? before I remembered that he's the guy that's been doing a decent job on Supergirl. If he can do that, he can pretty much do anything...

Meh, Kid Flash? I'll give it a try, but I was hoping for more of a Flash family companion book to Johns' Flash.

Yeah, a Flash family book would have been a lot cooler than Kid Flash, but it's Sterling Gates, as BrianWilly said, the guy who has made Supergirl into a decent book as opposed to something that deserved to be burned and cancelled.

That's pretty high praise, and I do like Bart. I wonder who the artist will be (*hopes for Todd Nauck or Karl Kerschl*).

Well the chance of Max and the Wests not being in a Kid Flash book is pretty much zero.

Yeah, but Wally as a supporting character in Bart's book is just wrong to the nth degree. It breaks all known limits of wrongness.

I hope there's still a chance for a Flash family book with the West and Garrick families. Or maybe some kind of Wally ongoing.

I'm going to be zetta disappointed if it this ends up being the other Flash book Didio and co. were talking about. I like Bart and all, but I don't know if I have enough interest in him to buy his ongoing. I'm sure Wally and Jay will be there, but as Corp pointed out, they'll probably be supporting characters, unless they take the route of them being mentors and even then they'll probably just be consistent supporters.

I may give it a shot, but I do also hope that a Flash family type of deal is in the pipes too

So, if I'm understanding that, his Flash monthly is intended to be kind of like a Flash family book with all the speedsters playing 'major roles'. I don't know, I think his hero worship of Barry Allen is pretty apparent in Rebirth so I'm skeptical of how much importance the other speedsters will really play. Just have to wait and see I guess

im sure barry will be the main focus, but many of the other speedsters will be playing the supporting cast. much like how in GLC kyle and guy are clearly the main characters, but you still get kilwog and etc...

Yep, that's about what I figure, too.

But he's especially attached to Barry, which means it might work out a bit more like Green Lantern, where Hal's the focus and John is ostensibly a supporting character but really might as well not even be there.
