The Official Flash thread

Wow I wish I hadnt been born with the compulsion to finish what I start. This was one of if not THE worst Flash story to date. Barry will recieve no further money from me, heck I kinda liked the whole Chronos parallel with Wally but other than that this Mini BLEW. Oh and it was ungodly slow.

I hope that there's NO Zoom army or whatever they would call it.
I would like to see Prof.Zoom and Zolomon Zoom team up though. But that's it!
I'm really like Wallys costume.very much like the 90's costume!

This last issue was alright, I guess. But it felt like an #0 for the ongoing rather than a proper conclusion in itself. More a whole bunch of teases - some more tantalising than others - strung together in quick succession rather than much of a story in itself.

The smartest move Johns could make, I feel, is continuing to have the Rogues be prominently featured. Because if you look back, I think the build-up to this new Flash ongoing on the Rogues end of things (Final Crisis: Rogues Revenge, the Rogues parts of Blackest Night: Flash) has largely made for more enjoyable reading than the Barry Allen side of the build-up (Flash: Rebirth, the Barry parts of Blackest Night: Flash). For example, this opening arc - "The Dastardly Deaths of the Rogues", or whatever it's called, I'm as interested to see Captain Cold's investigation into the murders as I am to see Barry's, if not moreso.

can someone post the pictue of the flash saying he's back to the JLA. I'm considering weather to buy this issue or superman secret origin issue 5

Secret Origin is better for your money.

First Look: Flash #1

The Flash is back.
Can’t really say how cool it was to just type those words. And it’s really happening, with writer Geoff Johns and artist Francis Manapul uniting to launch Barry Allen into his own monthly series. But coming back may have been the easy part. When one of the Flash’s deadliest foes turns up dead, can the newly-returned Scarlet Speedster scour Central City to solve the crime before the elusive killer strikes again?
The moment we’ve all been waiting for is almost here, and the only thing that can possibly tide us over is a peek at the first issue, courtesy of Johns and Manapul.
Johns, no stranger to the adventures of those who ride the lightning brings his knack for well-crafted drama and human dialogue to Manapul’s skillfully designed page, which bursts with an infectious energy. It’s simple: You do not want to miss this book.
But before you scroll down and check out these lovely pages, make sure to keep your eyes locked on THE SOURCE this week, as we’ll be talking more Flash in the coming days.

THE FLASH #1
, the first part of “The Dastardly Death of the Rogues,” hits 4/14.

I love Manapul, HATE Barry. Damnit. Torn.

It just hit me right now that Iris is a journalist too.

How many ****ing female journalists does the DCU need?? Seriously, was "Be a journalist" one of the biggest turn-ons for men back in the 40-60s or something?

That just hit you right now? She's been a journalist since forever. :o

I suppose the main reason why journalists seem to be the occupation of choice for the superheroes' ladies is that it places them in close proximity to the heroes really easily. Anytime something happens, a reporter's gonna be there for it. So that allows a bond to believably develop between the hero and the reporter who inevitably becomes obsessed and stalkery intrigued by him, as opposed to the chick being a secretary or a doctor who just conveniently happens to be around whenever s*** with this hero goes down.

dear god in heaven, I love Manapul. I really wish we could see him tackle Wally instead of Barry.

I'm sure Wally will appear whenever Johns needs a dumber hero to make Barry look smarter or something. :)

It looks boring and dull, Manapul is amazing though.

She hasn't been around. The last time I remember anything having to do with Iris was when she was some crazy time-traveling grandma in Bart's Flash series.

Seriously, does anyone ever make anything of the fact that Barry and Wally apparently both married news reporters? On some level it just feels kinda lazy.

She should have another job like a publicist or something.

How did she get her job back after being gone for so long? Also how did she get so much younger? Also didn't everyone know she was murdered?

I like the art, still not planning on picking it up though.

She did some stuff for some guys that involved her having to wash her mouth out with Scope afterwards, Time Travel, and it's hard to keep track of whose dead and who isn't when the universe gets restarted ever decade.

Yeah, just blame it on Superboy Prime's reality punches. They, uh, travel through time so they only just de-aged her, even though Infinite Crisis was like 5 years ago. Yeah, that's the ticket.

So the gen pop of central city's memory is good enough to remember that some dork in the forensics department has been missing for years but not good enough that they remember that one of their top reporters was murdered only to reappear years later looking as if she hadn't aged a day and get right back to work.

Yup, that sounds consistent with Johns inconsistency.

No, no, one of their top reporters was murdered only to reappear years later as a retired old lady and then suddenly go back to looking like she hasn't aged a day.
