So...Barry Allen's back. How will that affect this series, if at all?

Has it been stated that he is back permanently? I'm kinda hoping this is just another time jump before he has to die. :ninja:

we heard in an interview with didio that
A)when asked if Barry would return, he said yes and also the A crisis is a place for ALL FLASHES
B)when asked if the flash will die, didio said no, quite the opposite.
So...it looks like Barry and Bart will return for the crisis and most likely stay afterwords

DiDio and Van Sciver have been dropping cryptic hints that Van Sciver and someone at a higher pay grade than Peyer might be taking over the Flash's comic after FC and that all of the Flashes could work in one comic. I'm not particularly partial to that idea, since I like Peyer and I think he'll bring The Flash back to a good place on his own, and also since I don't really like Van Sciver's art that much.

I really don't think Barry should stay. For years they've been saying that bringing Barry back would cheapen his sacrifice and I agree. I also think it will cheapen Wally's accomplishments. Bart would probably get nerfed, costumes would have to be changed, teams will have to be changed and it'll be really confusing for new fans.

I think the Flash legacy should be about passing the torch not disappearing for a little while and then coming back indefinitely.

Oh and according to this Alan Burnett will be the new writer but only for 4 issues.

I always thought Bart's costume should've kept the goggles from his Impulse days.

He's been cool after his initial f***-up. He's hanging out in the 853rd century now.

I know, his costume is stupid, and he's still a wanna be.

Shut up, his blue costume rocked the house.

Too bad he decided to go all freaky triangles on us.

Well, yeah, that was unfortunate. Leaving the 20th century was the worst fashion decision he ever made; that's why we should get him back. :)

YES. If the "person at a higher pay grade" taking over Flash from Peyer is Geoff Johns, I am OKAY WITH THAT. I mean, I was having a blast reading Peyer's Flash, and I do feel a bit cheated that we won't get to see where he was taking the character, but in return for more of Johns on Flash, I say it's a fair trade. I don't know how many people agree with me, but for my money, his Flash run is still the best work he's ever done. Better than JSA, better than Green Lantern, better than Action Comics, better than Infinite Crisis, better than, uh, Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E...

I dunno, Action Comics is really damn good.

Johns did a awesome job reinvigorating and setting the boundaries for the Flash. He did an excellent job of making his Rogue a genuine threat. I haven't picked up the Flash regularly since Johns left. I tried it when Bart was the Flash and a smidge when Waid and Peyer joined. I'm not able to get into it any more for some reason, maybe it's the kids, I don't know.

I just hope the Flash's rogues don't retire, because the way the first issue of Rogues' Revenge is setup, it sounds like they may.
I also hope ZOOM becomes a major threat again like he was in the Flash trade BLITZ. I feel the character has been made a general run of the mill speedster villain after Blitz, when he should be a misunderstood solo villain with a warp sense of right and wrong.

I think Johns' work on Hawkman was incredible. Not only bringing back the character, but also setting his continuity right.

His Flash is absolutely the best work he's ever done, as far as I'm concerned.

Rogues' Revenge was great. Another go with Johns and Kolins (important enough to repeat: and Kolins) on the Flash's main comic would be welcome. I get the feeling he'd write Barry Allen as the Flash, though. In fact, I get the feeling Rogues' Revenge was changed from a simple mini to a Final Crisis tie-in is because he's going to write Barry into it.

True, they have those ads in some comics that say "where were you when Barry came back?" I would love to see Johns work on Barry on a regular series with Kolins. I'm unsure what would happen to Wally during the whole process. Does Wally disappear again like he did in Infinite Crisis, or can Barry and Wally coexist and not over saturate the DCU with speedsters?
