If they're smart they'll tweak it slightly, like the GL uniforms, so it isn't drastic, but you can tell who's who.

The fact that Wally has to get the new, not-iconic costume already implies one character is better than the other.

I'm wondering if it will be a response to Barry's reappearance. Ny that, I mean the fact that he started to wear it out of repect for Barry being gone, and now that he's back, he can do his own thing. In a sense Wally might be "giving it back" to his uncle.

AS LONG AS it makes sense with the characters....I'm okay with it.

I take issue with the fact that the costume is such a classic, identifiable piece of the Flash that Wally being forced to change into something else, regardless of what it looks like, is symbolic of him leaving the recognizable Flash mantle to Barry and being forced to become something else just to sate Johns' nostalgia.

Okay...I see what you are saying. Definitely. But the costume is different already.....Wally came back after Dead Heat (If I remember right) with a slightly changed costume.

So maybe they'll change it slightly just to make the difference clearer. I mean, my brothers and I can always tell who it is...but the average reader might not be able to.

Yeah, the post-Dead Heat changes were really, really slight. They whited his eyes out and made the suit shiny, basically. Since then, his costume has actually returned to the larger eyeholes and unshiny finish it started out with, though. In fact, the only permanent changes that differentiate Wally's suit from Barry's are the belts and Wally's lack of wings on his boots. You and I can recognize those minor differences, but the average newbie? Nah, in DC's eyes they're going to get confused.

Remember, these are corporate marketing people managing a franchise that we're talking about, not any kind of comic fans or creators who pay attention to detail. I remember watching a TV show where a long-standing cast member with brown hair had to grow a beard simply because they were bringing in a new cast member who had brown hair and a similar build, and the suits thought viewers would get the two of them confused.

Wally West is the only Flash I really care about. Barry Allen has always struck me as boring, just like John Stewart. I'm all for Barry being back, but if it were up too me, which it is not, Barry should be the secondary character, perhaps as a powerless mentor of some kind.
