Regardless, the "Maaaaaan... F*** Barry Allen!" meme will live on.![]()
LOL.
Boy, I really walked in on a thread of a few bitter, angry Wally fans who don't like change.

Regardless, the "Maaaaaan... F*** Barry Allen!" meme will live on.![]()

...This is meant to be sarcastic, right? I mean, with the irony and everything? Please be sarcastic with this 'cause it'd be really sad if we're supposed to take this at face value.Saying that "Wally is the Flash!" over and over again does not make it any more real. The fact (Flash Fact) remains that Barry Allen is THE FLASH
, the definitive Flash, has been so, and has been Flash longer than anyone else (his run is still longest, and that was when comics sucked!). Barry is The Flash, Wally is the substitute runner up, he's a close second at best.![]()

...Huh?? How can you say if I read something or not, when I did?You haven't even read it. You just don't like Barry Allen. You started this thread to help boost your anti-Barry argument.![]()
I think it's totally dickish to skip out on certain stories, GOOD stories, just because they're not about your favorite version of a character. The people proudly spouting "I don't read Hal's book ever because it's not about Kyle, I only read Kyle's" and are now saying that they won't read Barry's book because he isn't Wally are quite small minded in my opnion. If Barry and Hal fans wanted to read Flash or GL they had Wally and Kyle. That was it.
I grew up with Wally West. I know everything about Wally. I could write a book on him. I also know everything about barry, and could also write a book on him. I'm a Flash MMA fighter, I'm the Farry Allen scholar you said you weren't, I have read nearly everything about both Wally and Barry, and I still prefer Barry as Flash. All the people bashing Barry because they grew up with Wally and know nothing about Barry are giving uninformed opinions. Biased to the nth degree.
That doesn't make sense. How could she be a gandmother without having childern. Yes the kids were born in a different time period but from both Barry and Iris's point of reference they have already had children.
Iris should be at least 34 years older from the last time she saw Barry.
But Bart is in the same time period so she still is a grandmother and that still doesn't negate the argument I made earlier that from their perspective they have already had children. Not to mention the fact that for a speedster and a time traveler having children in a different time period is kind like have children that moved to a different state.Time Travel is wonderful for contradictions, isn't it.
The Tornado Twins And their respecitve kids Bart and XS won't be born for another Millenium.
Iris was in the next 1000 years long enough to become a grandmother. THEN she returned at her older age to today. And...
SHE WAS.
If she is not in the current continuity, start with the obvious suspect; Superboy prime's reality punches.
If he's cleared, go to the next source, Crazy Scarlte Witch over at marvel who was upsetting reality over there.
or blayme john Bryne. He's had nothing to do with the Flash, mind you but blaming John Byrne is a national pastime.
I'm figuring that the whole Flash part of the DCU will really benefit from Flash Rebirth in much the same way that GL has. I mean, I'm more of a Kyle fan than any other GL but some of the best GL stories of all time followed GL Rebirth.
So my question to the people saying **** Barry is: are you guys not at least a little excited that there will be some really cool Flash stories in the future?
I hear that. They seem to be very similar characters.I don't think anybody is arguing that there can't be good stories. I'm excited to see what DC has in store for the (now bigger) Flash family.
but to be honest, I think the GL Corps books is better than Hal's Green Lantern book. I found a lot of the Hal stories to be rather "meh". It was just a lot of him trying to struggle to find his new place in the DCU and come to terms with his past. which was fine, I guess. but it rehashed a lot of story that I read forever ago when he went all Parallax on us. instead of incorporating new elements. It's gotten better, though, with the Blackest Night stuff.
So I would say that personally, I'm more excited to see what happens with the rest of the Flash Family than I am about Barry. because I feel like it would just be Hal's story again.
Hey, maybe with all the Flash interest that will be generated by Rebirth DC will get a sick creative team going on Wally's book.I can't speak for anyone else, but the way I see it? Let's see the Flash story actually be cool now before we have any hope for the future.
And, really, what happened to Kyle in the 2006-8 interim is pretty much the only reason that Wally fans are apprehensive at all.
So you're ignoring Barry just because you don't like his resurrection? Then why do you even care one way or the other about Rebirth? It's really not about wanting good stories and liking so-and-so better than so-and-so for me. It's much more of a personal principle thing that I've went over to an exhausting degree.
If they do the whole Speedsters book like people are speculating (with Wally, Bart, Jesse, Jay, and whoever else), sure I'll pick that up and enjoy it if it's enjoyable, but I don't care if Johns ****s out the Great American Comic Book, I'm ignoring Barry Allen as much as I can
