Considering Batman, Superman, and most other major heroes' books have gone on for 40, 50, 60 years, 19 really doesn't seem like that long of a period of time.

but you cant compare bats and supes. the flash books doesnt belong to one person, the book is a legacy book. wally, bart, jay are all sucesors to the throne. each one gets thier chnace in the spotlight,so now its bart's turn.

Which is exactly why I don't mind it. But I can see how Wally fans would want to get a little more bang for their buck.

...and yes, I realize that analogy's completely wrong for this situation. :o

I would like to have watched Bart grow into his role as the Flash. It was cool seeing him toss the Impulse garb to don Wally's colors...but I'd like to have watched Bart experience another situation where he would have to wear Barry's colors.
The Titan's book was okay...but not enough to quench my thirst for character progression.

Bart just doesn't feel right as the Flash to me. I know Wally wasn't much older than Bart when he became the Flash, but Wally was considerably more mature and responsible from side-kicking for all those years. Bart's been back in the past for what, like 3 years? 2? He's basically still a rookie.

Although, Superboy Prime did mention that he was held captive for a long time in the Speed Force, so maybe Bart will come out aged to his early 20s or something.

Now that I know who the Flash will be and it's a monumental let-down, I'm more interested in these Speed Force people. Are they just going to be all the dead speedsters resurrected as avatars of speed energy or something? I wouldn't mind having Max Mercury and Johnny Quick back.

maybe he has, but i recently discoverd him about a year ago, i havnet had enough, so screw you:down

Bart makes sense, since they said they were gone for years.

BUT, why is SBP still young? I kind of had a feeling it would be Bart.

maybe thats why he's so dark on the cover, all thoughs years of red sun light :p

That's my concern as well, but I've always felt, if Flash wasn't going to be Wally, who else could it have be? I'd much rather take a young Bart as Flash rather than Barry coming back or some time-traveling mumbo-jumbo involving Wally's kids.

Which is why he suggested reading back issues.

That's what I'm doing myself, actually. And if you don't have the cash, or can't track down the issues, there's always torrents. Waid & Wieringo + Flash = Sex. :o

If it is Bart... I probably won't read the title.

I'm looking to cut down as it is, and the fact is, I like Wally. It's not the costume I like it's Wally the character. Bart, I just don't find that interesting to hold a monthly title.

A quick explanation:

Vs. teams are not precisely comic teams. For instance, there's a Team Superman team that consists of every version of the post-Crisis on Infinite Earths Superman (Red, Blue, Returned, etc.) as well as every post-Crisis Supergirl (Cir-El, Linda Lee Danvers, and Kara Zor-El), not to mention the usual gang from the Planet. Doctor Doom is a part of the Doom team, which focuses on himself and his underlings.

Speed Force is just the name the Vs. TCG is using for a team made up of the Flash family and DC's speedsters. So, in the eventual Flash set (some time next year, no doubt), we'll see Max and Jesse Quick and Johnny Quick and all the rest.

I'm not to suprised that Bart is the new flash, I kind of guessed it after SBP came back and said years passed. I hope it dosen't come out akward because he jumps immediatley into an adult (is it safe to assume that happens?) I has definetley struck my intrest.

Hey, Leaguer brought an interesting thought up when I was talking to him. Are there pictures with these lists, or are the lists text-only? If it's the latter, couldn't it just be Bart as the Flash from "Titans Tomorrow"? That's still very much Crisis-related, after all.

I don't mind this at all.

Wally has a very logical and very well-written reason to not be the Flash anymore. Even at the end of his series he was slowly and inevitably backing out. And it's not like he's dead or anything.

Bart is still very immature, but he's been growing up and he wants this more than anyone; he wants this more than Tim wants to be Batman, more than Conner wanted to be Superman, and more than Cassie wants to be Wonder Woman. And he's earned it.

In terms of the narrative and storyline, this makes sense.

I mean, can anyone really think of a reason that they shouldn't happen other than "things shouldn't change?"

Wally still has boatloads of story potential, for one. As long as he's still involved in the series somehow, I won't really mind, though. I'm a much bigger fan of Wally as a character than I am of Bart.
