i still see nothing wrong with starting with barry, it would be good move to start with him. then of course have wally be a key supporting player. So then while we got barry as flash we develop wally, so then in a sequel we can have wally as flash. There is many different ways they can go about both of them.

So when do we get a Flash forum for all the good news?

I think it makes sense to start with Barry, but I want Wally in there too, and I do think that any "trilogy" plans should be written around the torch passing to Wally. One movie with Barry as Flash, a movie where Barry dies and Wally takes up the mantle, and then a third movie with just Wally. I think Wally should be Justice League's Flash, also.

I'm really glad Flash is finally moving along. Or in this case...speeding his way through!

With Barry being announced as The Flash... I'm not as excited about it as I once used to be. I'm still excited to see an adaptation of the character in general and to see the DC Film Universe expand but I've never seen anything that's proved to me that Barry Allen is the best choice to have star in his own film.

I realize that I'm probably pretty biased because Wally is the The Flash that I've grown up with but I still yet need to really see proof that Barry will be able to carry this movie.
I think it's better off with Barry being the Flash on film. I like Wally better, but what makes Wally so compelling is that he stepped into his mentor's shoes and surpassed him. Have a Flash film that starts off with Wally and that's gone.

Meh, I'd rather have Barry in the Justice League. If they made a Justice League sequel, I think it would be pretty cool to see the League react to the fact that one of their own has been replaced.

Thanks, I thought that's who it was. They'd be great as Barry and Iris.

hmm good question i am sure probably within the next few months maybe once we have official greenlight on the film?

As many of you know by now, I'm a big Wally West fan. But even so, I'm happy that a Flash movie appears to finally be on track. It's a great story regardless. I officially endorse either Scott Porter or Ben McKenzie as Barry Allen.

Here is a thought I had. I think it would be a good deal that, if The Flash film starring Barry Allen is a big success, you keep going that route with the Flash fiilms, but give Wally West a television show titled Flash: Legacy.

yea i am gunning for porter to at least test. IT sucks he has lost out on a bunch of roles. But he could be a nice fit for flash. If not i dont really know who i would want, i do like levi, rudd as other choices. And like i pointed out before, even though we do pretty much know now they want to go with barry, we dont know what they will or wont be doing with wally west character. For all we know he can and will possibly be a key supporting character. More so on what ever direction they are going with iris west and her relationship with barry in first film.

If you guys didn't know, Dan Mazeau was working on The Flash script with Geoff Johns, only to be dropped in favor of the writing team of Greg Berlanti and his partners (Green Lantern's writers).

At first, I was like "Poor, poor Dan" since he's a young kid and new to Hollywood. Well it looks like Warner Bros still have plans for Dan and are paring him up with David Leslie Johnson for Clash of the Titans 2. Not so poor anymore. And guess who they will be working with? That's right, Greg Berlanti himself, who I guess is mentoring them on 'Clash'.

It seems like WB really likes Greg Berlanti.

No. Because in my opinion, the proper way to establish a Flash franchise is by starting with Barry Allen, have him die after three movies made with him, and have Wally replace him. Having the hero replaced is something that has never happened before in a superhero movie.

I firmly believe that there should be no sidekicks in modern superhero movies. I love Robin, Wonder Girl, Superboy, Speedy and whatnot in the comics, but truth is that they would look silly in the films that are being created and they would most likely get screwed up like Robin did in the Batman films.

However, there are two exceptions, Wally West and Bucky. They are the only sidekicks that should be allowed on film.

Well, I think I'm coming to terms with it being Barry and not Wally. Therefore here's my short casting list.

The Flash/Barry Allen... Jake Gyllenhaal or Joseph-Gordon Levitt
Iris West... Kate Mara
Shade/Richard Swift... Crispin Glover

I'm really, really hoping that Shade is the villain. Would be a great way to introduce a little darkness into a lighthearted hero's life (as well as the film.)

And as far as Greg Berlanti goes, I think they will choose a different director like they did with Green Lantern.

I wouldn't be suprised at all if TRON: LEGACY director Joseph Kosinski got it. WB did sign him on already to do a remake of Logan's Run, after all.

If they do a trilogy of Barry films then that means it'll be like, 10 years before we even see Wally as the flash. It's true that you can't please everyone, but that's like not even trying. It's basically just saying "we're only going to use Barry, but maybe in 10-15 years when this franchise is drying up and we're ready for a reboot, we'll use the other character. But we're not making any promises."

nice to see dan moving to other things. Plus like i mentioned before for all we know elements of dan/johns scriptment could end up making ways into the new guys script. Plus like green lantern after they do a script/draft they could be moved off to another project and another writer comes in to polish up script.

It will probably be Barry for the full three movies, if this is a trilogy like Green Lantern.

I can't realistically see the studio dropping the lead and bringing in a new Flash if the first actor is popular and the film does well, that'd be a big no no.

At best, maybe I could see Wally brought in as 'Kid Flash' in a sidekick role at some point.

Agreed Man of Tomorrow, like other posters have said DC/WB will probably combine aspects of all the Flashes, but mostly Barry Allen. IMO it make sense to use Barry since DC has recently bought him back and he has the best origin/history and is the most famous/well known of all The Flashes. I Personally don't think Wally will ever be The Flash on on the big screen.

Barry confirmed. Sweet!! WB is gonna be churning out some awesome stuff here, I'm glad they're making smart decisions.

possibly could be just barry films. But it doesnt mean we could also have wally there and also get powers down the line. So they have the option to do the whole killing barry and going to wally as flash. or they could try and do a sidekick film with flash. So many details are unknown.

I'd like to think it would just be Barry. I'm not looking forward to any Kid Flash action going on.
