Alright, we is havin' some church up in here! In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Speed Force Batman!

ROTFLMAO!!! We may have just started the First Church of Saint Barry, lol!! :D

Haha, thanks dude! And as for the people who want Wally first, I understand the interesting dynamic of a sidekick stepping up to the big time. It's definitely a fascinating part of Wally's story. The thing is though, how can you truly understand the gravity of just what kind of boots he is trying to fill, just what he is trying to live up to, and what kind of lessons that have been beat into his head that now have to be put into action, unless you see it yourself? To skip Barry being a main character would actually cheapen Wally's story!

YES!!! OMG!!! That's exactly what I've been saying!!!!

Are you the earth 2 me? LOL! That's one of the BIGGEST reasons why I said to do Barry first.

Flash backs won't carry the same emotional weight as seeing the character in action as it happens would. It's like your parents telling you the story of the granpa you were named after, but you never knew him. You understand he was important, sure, but you have no connection to the story. You know it's important, but you don't feel that it's important. We need to see Barry doing his thing for longer than 2 minutes in Wally's head when he's in a tough spot. We HAVE to feel just how hugely important the s*** ton of responsibility that's just been suddenly dropped at his feet is. The fact that it's gone from Jay to Barry, and now it's up to him to pick up this legacy and run as fast as he can.
You see, without a firm foundation in Barry, Wally cannot work as well as he could. Could you pull it off with Barry as a footnote. Sure. No one says you can't. But it defeats the purpose of a LEGACY character if you skip over the people that came first, regardless of how the story is told.

My 2 cents, anyway.

HELL YEAH. I agree with everything you just said.

Geoff's setting for The Flash:

“We’re caught up in a world that’s obsessed with speed these days. Texting, faster downloading… We’re always looking for ways to speed things up, it can be hard to slow ourselves down.”

^^ I love it. Watching a naturally slow/easy going guy like Barry coping with being the fastest man alive will be fun to watch. He may get "seduced" by the speed, it will be fun watching him adjust.

Barry is the guy that everyone's always waiting on, now he's suddenly waiting on everyone else. It's a remarkable reversal.

It'll be a great character-driven story, that's for sure.

And, with Geoff being a producer, future rewrites won't mess with the Script.

Iris West?

Yes please.

The Flash: "I still don't get why you don't do more to protect your identity. This new Lantern? Kyle? His mask covers most of his face. Smart kid."
Green Lantern: "Clark hides behind a pair of glasses and you're worried about me?"
The Flash: "Clark slouches, wears clothes 2 sizes too big and raises his voice an octave."
Green Lantern: "And I'll never understand how he got Lois Lane that way".
The Flash: "Hey, some women are into introspective guys."
Green Lantern: "You mean like Iris?"
The Flash: "Like Iris. What do I keep hearing? 'The geeks are taking over the world.'"
Green Lantern: "Oh, God. You started reading the internet, didn't you?"
The Flash: "And stopped. Too slow."

^^ Barry and Hal had some great moments in GL #44. I'm glad that Barry is being himself again. :D

I hope that's how Johns writes him on film.

Johns is producing and working on the story. Someone else is apparently writing the script.

Johns developed the Plot. Dan Mazeau will write the Script, and Johns will polish it.

Ya who knows how much they will both agree/disagree on what is going to be in the final draft, and if they get another director attached who knows how much say he will have in the development too.

I hope that they get someone awesome for this, who really understand The Flash, you know? I think in general people do like The Flash, so it won't be hard, but he's more than a dude who can run fast. He can time travel, has super fast healing, can manipulate atoms thus having the ability to run through walls, etc.

Also, The Flash villains are an interesting bunch: once B listers who became A Listers thanks to Geoff Johns himself.

So there's a lot to cover here, and I hope they pick someone right. If I had my way, I would pick Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim) but he's doing a comedy after Scott Pilgrim and he still has Ant Man on his plate.

He's very good, check out Friday Night Lights, and as he himself is a huge fanboy, he gets extra support.

He's credited as co-writer and, as producer, he'll get a say in the final draft.

Credited where? Last I heard, he was producing, helping develop the story as a consultant of sorts, and someone else was going to write it. "Polish" implies something else entirely.

it was in that interview from the other week or so about flash/aquaman films in the works, along with other things. I agree i may not know alot on the flash characters or his villains but with the right people involved they can make it work.
