a polish would be like a script doctor would do, going back to the script and clean up key scenes and dialog. Yeah, I don't know if Geoff would do it or not. I'm sure if Dan's script is good enough, Geoff is fine with it. If not, he'll let Dan know.

Johns' job is going to most likely involve making sure that they don't foul up. Beyond that, I have no idea how involved he'll be with crafting the actual story.

I mean, he DID write the treatment of the story, and Dan's doing the actual script. But most of the Charcters, beats, plot structure and devices are all Johns.

I do have to say if they go with Barry, it would be cool if The Flash was the ONE superhero movie franchise that does have sidekicks and extensive members of a team.

Meaning, we haven't seen the "Bat Family" in the GOOD Batman movies; or Superman's crew done right (Supergirl, Superboy, Power Gil, etc). If they build a foundation from the very start of a FLASH Legacy, then I think it could work. And it hasn't been done before in the right light.

The only problem is explaining how Wally or whomever gets his/her powers. So the tone of the movie(s) has to be in a heighten reality, so you can buy into it. Like the Incredbles for example.

Ya hopefully we know soon if flash does get into actual production moving on who is doing what.

we'll see. I'm thinking that maybe we'll hear something next year but it depends on WB if they're willing to shell out the money because they need to make Superman ASAP, or they'll lose the rights. So what I'm getting at is if we do hear any news at all, it'll probably be Superman or even Batman related, then maybe Flash.

My prediction is that 2012 will be a year with TWO DC movies. It's just a matter of which ones.

I think Superman is almost a lock for 2012, since of their 2011 production deadline.

Nolan can start on his Batman film in late 2010/early 2011 for a 2012 release but it really depends. It sounds like he's wanting to take his time on the third film. If that's the case, move Batman to 2013 and let The Flash come out in 2012 then.

Ya hopefully we will know what is going to happen by the end of this year/early-mid next year.

one thing to be excited about is that in that recent Variety article about DC movies, The Flash is the only one (from the main DC UNIVERSE) that was named in development. Not Superman. Not Wonder WOman. ONly the Flash.

So I'm figuring that maybe that's the one project that has the most going for it, so here's to hoping.

Batman 3 is probably set for 2012, to compete with The Avengers. If they release Black Panther in the same year, The Flash would be a great oponent.

For how much women are always complaining about no "strong female characters" and all that crap, you'd think people would be pushing for Wonder Woman.

I don't think the General Public sees Wonder-Woman as a strong female character. Look at Megan Fox's statements!

I want a Flash movie so bad. and I wanted Ryan Reynolds to play Wally West. :csad:

Batman knocked criminals into the middle of next week for more than half a century before that.

And I'm figuring (hoping) he was being sarcastic with that Megan Fox comment.

But the general public's knowledge of the character was probably primarily based on Adam West and Super Friends, the same goofiness the GP attach to Wonder Woman. Hell, Batman89 was originally developed as an Adam West style movie with Bill Murray (supposedly)

Yeah, that might generally be true... my dad said that's what he thought of Batman before he saw TDK.

Me too

Flash definetly will be the hardest DC film to pull off. Hell even Aquaman would be easier IMO.

About Johns involvment (I know Im weeks late): Kinda disappointed because I never liked his work on the Flash (Wally or Barry) and because having him attached makes me strongly believe that they will use Barry but at least a Flash movie is getting made

sorry but i think a guy who talks to fish is harder to translate than the flash lol

thats not his only power

and its hard for me to describe my feelings towards why Flash would be the most difficult
Just a bunch of jumble thoughts
Superman has super strength, flight, freeze breath, etc.
Batman has his martial arts skills, his detective skills, and his gadgets
WW has her strength, her braclets, her overall warrior abilities
GL has his ring that is only limited by his imagination
Aquaman has super strength, ability to talk to fish, and his ability to breath underwater

and what Im getting at by saying all that is that the rest of DCs main heroes have multiple powers while The Flash has 1 his speed.
Granted through his 1 power he gets a variety of abilities but Superspeed is a power I just think could end up looking really really corny in live action. I mean sure so can talking to fish but at least Aquaman has other powers to draw from. If superspeed ends up not looking good then the movie is f***ed.

But I really look forward to a Flash movie because while I think it would be the hardest to make it is the one (after Batman) that I am anticipating the most.

I can see your point but for the past decade their has been alot of superspeed characters in live action tv shows/and a few movies and i never thought any of them have been cheesy looking. And with having a 150-185mill range budget for flash i guess they would have plently to use to make it look great. And yes flash is all about speed, but he can do alot of different things with it too like make twisters/funnels, time travel, parallel dimension travel, etc.... and then we have the whole legacy aspect to the character they can tap into.

like which ones. All I can think of is Bart Allen in Smallville. Do they use superspeed in Heroes?

I said that in my post but if his superspeed looks crappy most likely the twisters/funnels would look bad too.
