Micahel Bay is in love with America and sweeping camera angles too.

I would really like someone like Faverau to direct The Flash
I really liked how Faverau kept his twitter updated with progress of IM2 and how he is just a more personable guy

WB is just a nervous studio when it comes to superhero films

I think Jon Favs is a type of director who is aware of the fanbase and who is aware of the source material. Pretty much, if he doesn't know about something, he'll surround himself with people who do. So that's why he got the comic book artist (I forgot his name) to do concept art for the movies. That's why he got Matt Fraction to consult on the project and to work on the video game. It's stuff like that where you have to respect him because he has a geek mind.

I would love to see it done kinda like "Serenity." Barry's scenes and everything to do with him should be very well framed and filmed on a camera rig. The Flash scenes should be shot hand held, it's quick, not quite stable, he's so fast sometimes the camera misses a bit of what he's doing because he's here then he's gone. So kinda Firefly/Serenity meets BSG.

Yea it would be great if someone like jon got attached to flash, and did what jon did for im. Hopefully we get that for all future dc films.

Yea i wouldnt stop a director who was known more for animation then live action. Look what happened with jonah hex, they took the director of horton hears a who and i heard good things for hex. Plus getting a animated director on more they would probably be more versed on when its good for cgi and when it isnt needed and all that.

That would be cool. :)

I'd want my Flash action very clear and steady filmed. :hehe:

Oh, and Isla Fisher for Iris West!

Nah, I think the sorta shaky cam helps bring across the chaos injected in Barry's very sterile, safe life when he gets the powers so the contrast of the two works I think.

nah no shaky camera. I like some of his films but Peter Berg is notorious for doing that and it gets annoying because at first you might not notice it but when you do it gets really annoying. I dont want it for still moments and I dont want it for action scenes. Steady cam

Yea shakey cam is really only good if you are doing films lik blair witch, etc... types of film. i rather have a steady camera for hero flixs.

 Shaky Cam! It never bothers me as much as people complain about. I like the sense of action it gives. It's a matter of the directors taste, I suppose. But Berg's films always look good and are dynamic as far as action goes.

Speed is usually shown only two ways. A blur or a slowdown, ala Smallville. I'd be up for the shaky cam just for the different look.

Never bothered me either, I like Cinéma vérité type things. Can't say I've seen it used much in superhero movies and it'll provide a pretty great contrast to Barry's very sterile lab world. Plus I think it would be pretty cool to see a blur go by then the camera move to the left to see it and all that's there is a receding red blur.

Double post, sorry. But anyways, not shaky, but something that movies naturally (could shake sometimes), clearly not on a track.

Zoom is a must. He'd be the villain in the David Goyer Script, if I'm not mistaken. But I'd be happy with two classic rogues (I like the Captain Cold/Heat Wave idea) for the first movie.

I think if you're using the Rogues that Mirror Master pretty much has to be part of the group, for transportation purposes and to give Flash fits.

Neil Patrick Harris and Amy Adams as Barry Allen and Iris West

I'd go with these two as Barry and Iris for the Flash film:

I enjoyed the energy Nichols brought to her role of the Orion in Trek, plus she looks insanely hot as a redhead.

Professor Zoom and Captain Cold as the villains.

Energy in Trek? You mean moaning while Kirk was on top of her then dying off screen?

She was good on Alias. Saw a bit of P2 as well.

Yeah...I saw Star Trek twice. Now the second time, THAT'S when I got sad when poor little Rachel got killed..off screen. I didn't realize it the first time around unless they escaped via pods.

She is hot indeed.

I don't know how many time I have to ask this but..Scott Porter gets mentioned alot. What makes Scott Porter special? I'm not bashing him or anything but just curious.

He's a WB favorite. I'm pretty sure they only threw him into Speed Racer because they liked him for JL:Mortal.

He can act, and he's young/up and coming. He's pretty much where Taylor Kitsch was before being picked for Gambit and John Carter of Mars.

And most importantly, he's a hardcore DC Comics fan:

He *gets* the character, that's probably why they liked him.

Porter seems way more like a Wally type to me. Barry should give off a more mature and mentor like vibe which I can't really see Porter doing. Some one like Patrick Wilson would be good.

And while we're at it, Dustin Milligan as Wally West and Bruce Greenwood as Jay Garrick.

But why would Barry be a mentor if this is Barry's origins?.............. Which it more than likely will be.

He's just a young police scientist.

There's no one for him to be a mentor to at this point. This is the beginning.
