I don't think I like the idea of Grodd being in a live action Flash film.

I'm not sure if time travel/dimensions should be used either. If time travel was used however I could see an epic trilogy coming out of it. For instance the Rouges kill Barry and Wally takes up the mantle in the first film, Kadabra is the/a villain in second hinting that time travel maybe possible but never really answering if he was actually from the future, and in the third film adapt Waid's the return of Barry Allen story line and give Wally and fans a glimpse into the future and the legacy that they started.

Grodd I agree shouldnt be in the film

but time travel probaly would have to be somewhat present. If they decide to use either Professor Zoom or Zoom time travel plays a part. Also if they want to bring in Bart then time travel will need to be there

MY FLASH CAST

Ryan Gosling as The Flash/Barry Allen
Rachel Mcadams as Iris west
Robert Patrick as Captain Cold/Leonard Snart

From I gather, Ryan Gosling doesn't want to do superhero movies. He turned down Green Lantern (supposedly) several times.

ya and with how gl casting turned out if flash is next they will probably go for someone simular to ryan for what ever flash it ends up being.

ya which is a shame but hes more of an indie guy now anyways. Would like to see him be Green Arrow

Are we talking about a first film or the film as a series?

Because, as a series, I think it would benefit Flash to incorporate a whole lot of the high concept science fiction/comic book tropes to set it apart from other movies. That's one of the things that sets Flash apart from other heroes. And other speedsters. Let Batman be dark and psychological. Let Superman be epic and noble. Let Green Lantern be cosmic. Let Flash be fun, fast paced, and full of science fiction adventure.

That's one of the things that I think Fantastic Four missed out on. The sense of adventure.

Now, as a first film, I certainly can understand starting in a more grounded place. Introduce the characters. Keep the budget reasonable by having the villains essentially be just crooks with fancy guns. (Frankly, I think it will be refreshing to see some crooks whose motivation basically is, they want to steal some money and live the high life, rather than revenge, insanity, or world domination as goals.) See what works and what doesn't and build from there.

Edit: As far as time travel goes, if they go with Barry Allen, I could see using Prof. Zoom as a crazed stalker, killing Iris, and then having all sorts of time travel as Barry goes back in time to save Iris and defeat Zoom.

Zoom is a must. He'd be the villain in the David Goyer Script, if I'm not mistaken. But I'd be happy with two classic rogues (I like the Captain Cold/Heat Wave idea) for the first movie.

I think this is one of the rare exceptions that Flash can have multiple villains all at once. Maybe it's just me.

1) If they decide to use Bart Allen or even a younger Wally West as Kid Flash how about Devon Werkheiser

2) If you had the reigns what would be the plot of the Flash film series
For me:
1st film: Starts hours after Barry's funeral. There would be alot of flashbacks of how Barry effected the life of others such as Wally, Iris, Jay, Max kind of like The Comedian in Watchmen except Barry isnt a sociopath. Villain would be Weather Wizard, Linda Park would be in it

2nd film: Would be darker. Villain would be Zoom (Hunter Zolomon). Hunter would want to cause Wally a personal tragedy because he thinks it will make him a better hero. Black Flash would make an appearance. Maybe introduce Bart here. MAx Mercury would die in this one

3rd film. Villains would be The Rogues. Captain Cold, Mirror Master, Captain Boomerang and maybe Blacksmith (I just like the idea of having a female supervillain). Wally would be kind of depressed after the miscarriage of his 2 kids and having to defeat his former best friend. It would be cool if they could have Barry and Max come from the speedforce to help Wally and Bart kind of like in Infinite Crisis

I've noticed that it's kinda rare to bring up a dicussion on WHO should direct a movie like The Flash..so I'm gonna start it now.

WHO IS YOUR PICK TO DIRECT THE FLASH?

I would love Edgar Wright or Brad Bird giving it a shot; both seem to know action, storytelling, and heart.

I really want Barry. You cant emotion right if dies in the first or second we have to hear barry's story first and barry and wally's relationship in the second.

I like Gore Verbinski for director because he can blend action comedy and adventure really well

I know that it's a cool story idea, but yeah, you need Barry in there. With Geoff involved, you're gonna see Barry and hopefully Wally in the mix.

I like Gore a lot. I think he's stuck with Bioshock, a game adaptation that's stuck in development hell. But anything could happen you know?

But Gore's a good pick in my book.

Brad Bird, Doug Liman and/or Stephen Sommers would be OK.

Stephn SOmmers is good for stupid but fun movies. He's a Michael Bay with a heart.

But no man, i don't want him to be on The Flash. Kinda image if he was the director of Iron Man; it would be fun but it would lack the intelligence and wit of Jon Favs' version.

Brad Bird. Ive seen his name thrown in for Superman too and I'm just curious why people pick him because he's only done animation movies so far. The Incredibles did have that badass chase scene tho

LIman could go either way he did make a good movie: Bourne 1, a decent movie Mr and Mrs Smith, but then he made Jumper. So its a coin toss

for the love of God no Stephen Sommers

I'd have to go with Bird. Warner is already most likely considering this movie a gamble, so why not take the added chance of an animated director kicking ass?

I would really like someone like Faverau to direct The Flash
I really liked how Faverau kept his twitter updated with progress of IM2 and how he is just a more personable guy

WB is just a nervous studio when it comes to superhero films

Stephen Sommers is Michael Bay with less talent. Michael Bay has heart, he's drowning in it.
