so which flash would be in this movie? wally or barry?
We don't know. And since Justice League would have both, we can't even use it as a parameter of the Flash likely to hit the screen. I think Warner will call Geoff Johns to write the screenplay. If he's in, i'd bet on Barry.

Johns writting The Flash movie would be awsome!!!!!
I also think they will use Barry for thr simple reason that DC is bringing him back next year.

Yea i said it before since the gl film is having hal and if it goes off well why not do first flash film with barry, he has the easy origin to start off with and u dont have to change much unlike if u try to be wally or bart first.

I haven't read all the posts. But I would Want Wally West or Bart Allen because they a funny. it can be the end of the world and the would be cracking a joke. I would love to see it. My only experice with Barry Alien is in Justice League New Fronter and Barry wasn't funny at all, he was way to focused and serious for me. I just like Wally from JLA and JLU cartoons better.

I think they'll use Barry Allen for several reasons:

. He's comming back in 2009.

. Geoff Johns might write the script, and he's a Barry fan.

. He's easier to "explain" than Wally or Bart, who's great part of their characterization is the fact they live under Barry Allen's shadow.

. He's better reconized by the audience because of the "The Flash" series with John Wesley Shipp.

And, i'm the comics, Barry is actually lightheart and funny. He's only more sarcastic and less wisecracking than Wally (That is actually serious and focused in the comics. They gave him Bart's personality on JLU.) or Bart. In Justice League: The new Frontier, he only appeared three times, and always in a tense situation:

In the first, his fiancée was in danger and he was really pissed of about that.

In the second, he did a quirky remark ("What's the matter, Grodd? Feeling a little starve for attention"?), but he was quickly attacked and was about to the held hostage by his own government.

In the third, the whole world was a few hours away from Doomsday by the hands of the Center.

In the comics, he's more light-hearted, but he does get's serious when he goes to action, but they can change that in a movie, so he's more "funny".

yea all very good points and that is why i too think it will be barry if the flash solo film can ever get off the ground.

doutful on plasticman film happening any time soon. If things have really changed with dc and wb now since the summit i would think wb would want the bigger guns out first on films/other mediums then a super lesser known character.

I'd like to see Barry Allen, but I have a feeling that when we finally see The Flash on film it will be Wally West.

If they do use Wally, I'd like to see James Roday cast

Barry should have the honors of being the first flash in a big budget film. Yes he may have had the live action tv show, that failed jl live action pilot, and animation in the past. He is the more know and from comic fans the the better known flash.

How about Timur Berkamont ("Wanted") as the director? I've see a good amount of people suggesting it.

I'd want someone that has a little more flair for fun in their resume. The Flash can get dark and serious, but the concept and characters have all been somewhat on the lighter side as well.

"Wanted" was pretty funny, specially in the shooting class ("I can't shoot a dead body! It can be somebody's mom!"). Who do you sugest, Terry?

His couple of writing credits on Jurassic Park 3 notwithstanding, I'd say Alexander Payne. And King Arthur notwithstanding, I'd say Antoine Fuqua also.

I like Timur Berkamont's suggestion because, besides being a good action director, he have a thing for inovational camera angles. A movie about a speedster could use that.

Scott Porter is a good choice, either for Barry or for Hal Jordan.

Director/Writer combo, despite the fact that their last movies werent fantastic.

Doug Liman/David Keopp

Adam Brody would make a good Barry Allen / The Flash. He was rumored to play him in the Justice League movie I think he'd make a good Barry in a solo film.

Adam Brody would only be a good Wally West.

And the only writer for this is Geoff Johns, damnit!

Geoff Johns/Writer
Timur Bermakoment/ Director
Adam Brod/Wally West

That could be cool, but it has to have a sense of humor, the movie can't be too dark.

Change the last one to Scott Porter/Barry Allen and i'm sold.

What I See then probably doing is calling the character Barry Allen, but giving him JLU Wally west's personality and red hair.

Every time I see him mentioned I've gotta say something.

He'd be perfect for Flash.
