Barry's fan base is restricted to comic book fans.

Wally West's fan base is restricted to Cartoon fans.

I know which one I bet is bigger.

LOL. But keep in mind the Wally on the cartoons is not the same as the one in the comics: he's Wally in name and apperance (red hair, green eyes) but he has Barry's story and Bart's personality. Wally West has only appeared in the JL/JLU cartoon. Now altho that's only "one" appearance and it technically isn't exactly the comics' Wally West but is instead a hybrid of Flashes, all the episodes of JL/JLU that The Flash appeared in probably stack up more than the episodes of The Flash tv series and The Flash's other alternate media appearances, so it would make sense if mainstream audiences are more familiar with that particular version of The Flash. Altho if you ask me, moviegoers only familiar with the cartoon's Flash won't give a damn who "The Flash" is in a movie as long as he wears red, runs fast, and makes a joke - and that could be Barry, Wally, or Bart, and I'm sure the studio is aware of this.

wally may be known by the younger generation due to jl/jlu but barry i believe has the bigger fan base out there. And like others have pointed out since bart is gone and wally isnt going to be the flash any more with barry returning from the dead. Dc is likely going to want the current flash be in the film if it can ever get off the ground to capitalize on it you know.

Rightaroonie, bro. Also, Wally will still be called "Flash" last time I checked, just like Kyle and John are still called "Green lantern", but he won't be wearing Barry's suit anymore. I think that's good, it makes Wally his own man, gives him his own identity - I siwh they would have done that years ago instead of him dressing up like Barry. Ethan Van Sciver, who designed Wally's new suit, said "it's a little familiar". If this isn't this suit, I hope it's something similar:

I really liked this red and silver color scheme. It's a good look for Wally.

Thats cool though it will be a bit weird to have him be called flash with barry around, they should give him a new code name.

But back to film i still say it would be alot easier to start off with barry since his origin is easy to do and u dont have to change anything. Then maybe have wally have a small role in the film/or even say he was at the scene were barry got his powers. But we dont see any powers manifest in wally during the film towards the end. So that can leave it open to barry getting taken down in the second film and wally taking the mantle.

I don't think Walter West's costume fits Wally. It's kinda "Dark", and i don't see Wally as a Dark character. But i'm looking foward to see his new costume. I believe in Ethan Van Sciver. After all, he designed the kick-ass Sinestro Corps!

I think they should focus on Barry and use guys like Captain Cold, Mirror Master, etc. for villains. The second film can use Gorilla Grodd, while introducing Wally and having him become the Kid Flash. All building towards part 3 where they can use Professor Zoom and possibly Barry sacrificing himself to save the world.

As for casting, I like Ryan Gosling for Barry.

Powers Booth was a great Gorilla Grodd too. Wasnt too crazy about Mirror Master or Captain Colds voices but Captain Boomerrang and Pranksters were great.

Grodd could be adapted to a movie, but i don't think he fits DC/Warner's "realistic" vision.

well we dont know if gl/ww/flash will end up being more realistic like batman was for them. If they did that they would kill alot of things you could do with these characters. WW is more supernatural, gl scifi/space, flash action/adventure/scifi.
