Hey Kevin just wondering, I know this is the Flash thread but who is your top pick for Hal.

It's totally cool, bro. :D Hmmm.....Hal Jordan. You know, it's funny, I always thought he'd be really easy to cast (mostly cuz his look is rather generic, not that there's anything wrong with that) but ever since I've tried to avidly cast him, I can't seem to come up with anyone that I really like for the part, altho there's always a long and easy list of people I don't like for the part, lol. But as soon as I think I've found someone half decent for the role, I'll put him up for ya.

Who's your pick for the role, bud? :)

Oh, and what do you think of Paul Walker as Barry Allen? I think he'd do all right. :D

Hal Jordan/Green Lantern: Sam Jaeger

Carol Ferris: Jaime Murray

Sinestro: Hugo Weaving
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0915989/

As far as Walker this is gonna sound odd but I he's to tall for Barry.

He is important but he isn't nearly as important to Barry as Barry is to Wally.

True.

That's cool, but Jay wasn't quite Barry's "mentor" in the way Barry was Wally's. He didn't wasn't trained by Jay, Jay wasn't there to help him when he was first starting out, in the silver age stories, he met with Jay probably on an average of 2-3 times a year or so I think.

That's why it might be good to put Jay decades earlier in the past, like around WW II, so that the public forgot him or he was "below the radar" from the media that he becomes an urban myth. They could ****** Jay's aging process so he's still alive when Barry is around though he could be retired from super-heroing. It would allow Jay to appear to some degree if they want to use him and open up possibilities of using him with a prequel.

But I'm all for getting as many "easter eggs" into The Flash film (and all DC films for that matter) as they can - having Jay there in the background as an "old man" standing by later revealed at the end of the film (a la Alan Scott in GL) or in some other form of cameo would be awesome. And a teen Wally showing up would be great as well. Even verbal references are good. :D
Agreed.

chris is a bit old for the wally character. Though first we need to find out which flash will end up being in a feature film first and then at what point in that flash's career it is. Like if its barry and he just started out barry needs to be between 24-28yrs old so wally would need to be like 15-19 age range so there is a good difference between barry and wally so an uncle/nephew relationship looks better.

I think it would be cool if, in the movie's ending, Barry is found by Jay, who he belived was just a comic book character. Jay laughs, and say that "they" used to do that with all of them back on 1944, to don't compromise the team. (Nod to the JSA, leaving, subtlely, that the government covered the existence of those superheroes). Then, Jay says there are things out there Barry can't even imagine, but he's sure he'll become a part of something big someday (Nod to the JLA). Then, Jay gives Barry a lightning-shaped comunicator, and tells him to call anytime he feels it's necessary.

I also tough of a scene (Not necessarily in the Flash movie), where Jay meets Alan Scott, and they talk about Barry and Hal Jordan. Jay says something about "A new generation arriving", and says they'll always be there to guide them, when necessary. Then he asks "What now?", to which Alan responds: "Ted called and said something about a greek woman fighting bank robbers in Boston". Then, they walk away (Jay can say something like "I bet i get there first".

Just ideas, guys. :woot:

Cool choices. :)

For Sinestro, I like:

Jason Isaacs
Hugo Weaving
Daniel Day Lewis

...I had two other choices but I forget who they were at the moment. :)

I think Walker would be great as Barry, yeah, he's 6' 3', but I think that's better than him being too short, ya know? (In the comics, Barry was 6' 1')

That's a great idea. :) They don't have to introduce him as a main character so early in the film because Barry didn't meet him till he was in the fourth year of his career, according to the comics.

The plot from Flash: Rebirth #2:

What's happened to the Speed Force? One of the world's most powerful speedsters is dead, and Barry Allen must discover who – or what – is responsible! But the reborn Barry is a man haunted by a dark secret in his past. A secret that drives him to push far beyond his limits. A burden that, if he's not careful, could send him right back into oblivion! Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver's reinvention of the Scarlet Speedster picks up the pace – we dare you to keep up!

I can't wait! Sounds awesome! I wonder who died?

Yes this is fake, it was some fan made thing, it was pretty interesting looking but not real. This was posted a few months back. And you should know we have no cast, no script yet, and dont even know if a director is still attached to flash so their cant be any footage to a film that isnt anywhere close to filming at all.

Hey Kevin what is Barry's weight in the comics?

180-185 lb I think.

The Flash is supposed to be lean and kinda lithe looking, IMO. If you listen to what Carmine Infantino said about The Flash, he wasn't "built like a superhero, he was more of an ordinary guy" in terms of his appearance. I always liked that about him. :D

Also, Barry Allen/The Flash is on friday's (2-27-09) Batman: The Brave and The Bold episode "Deep cover for Batman!". :) Can't wait. :D

MY FLASH CAST

Barry Allen/The Flash: Chris Masterson
Isis West: Zoe Kazan
Captain Cold: Robert Patrick
Mirror Master: Mike Vogel
