Kevin_Smith...

I will say this, Walker does look like Barry. But personally, I just don't like him as an actor. He seems very wooden to me, although the Fast and Furious movies do showcase him to the best of his abilities.

You're probably right. It would be good if he did something with more "range" to better show his acting abilities I guess. :)

But he's still got three things going for him: He looks like Barry, is interested in the part, and is better than Adam Brody. ;)

Wally West/The Flash= Scott Porter

Anytime an actor wants a part and they pursue it, I give them credit for that.

I wonder, who would be your choice for Wally West, both as the young Kid Flash and the lead Flash?

I still say if flash does ever get off the ground in the next few yrs its bound to be barry allen flash for first film.

WALLY WEST/KID FLASH

ANTON YELCHIN

Sure he's a skinny, but he really is a great actor. Obviously, they'd build him up if he were cast as a superhero, and he's in his late teens. He can pull of naive and funny, which would be necessary to play Wally West/Kid Flash.

OLDER WALLY WEST

JOHNNY LEWIS

C'mon! Dude looks just like him!

PAUL CAMPBELL (possibly)

What do you think? :)

I have yet to find someone for a real young, like ten year old Wally West, but I'm still looking. I also know there are probably better choices for Wally than some of the ones I listed, truth is, I'm still searching for them, matter of fact, my "cast" is an ever changing/growing/updating thing. :)

With the exception of a few, here's my Rogues cast:

MIRROR MASTER

CHRISTIAN SLATER

Good actor, and he'd be playing the Sam Scudder version (sorry, I know McCulloch's accent is funny and all), Scudder was a guy who could put Captain Cold in his place and typically lead the Rogues before Cold did, he was considered one of The Flash's biggest enemies in the silver age, Slater carries just enough bad assery to pull off those character traits perfectly, IMO.

CAPTAIN COLD

ROBERT PATRICK

THE REVERSE FLASH/EOBARD THAWNE

ALO-011463.jpg

BRADLEY COOPER

Cooper is a good actor, he can be a nice guy one minute and a total jerk the next. He'd be perfect for Thawne - a mad scientist from the future who not only has the knowledge that the Rogues lack - he knows who The Flash is, but he also wants to be him, and when he can't be him, he'll try to steal his life (and take his wife), and what he can't have, he'll destroy (hence his killing Iris West in the comics).

And of course, here's Barry again :):

Sorry for the delay. Here it is:

THE FLASH/BARRY ALLEN

PAUL WALKER

Aside from looking almost exactly like Barry Allen and being able to do funny and serious, a balance that would definitely be needed to play Barry Allen, he's actually interested in the part. Back when the JLA film was being cast, a couple of posters had said they wanted him for Aquaman and apparently he got wind of it. When I spoke to him via his myspace page about how he felt about all the Aquaman suggestions, he said that's cool but he'd like to play The Flash. Double points for him I say. :D

ryan_gosling.jpg

RYAN GOSLING

While he may not have the statuesque look of a traditional comic book hero, he's got the acting chops to play one, IMO. He's got the blond hair and blue eyes, like Barry, and he can also mix humor and serious (Fracture).

scott_porter1.jpg

SCOTT PORTER

Aside from being considered for the part several times now, he looks enough like Barry with his strawberry blond hair and blue eyes, is a decent actor, has a great sense of humor, and is a DC comics fan to boot, he's even done interviews with DC Comics head honcho Dan Didio himself. Not to mention he could practically voice The Flash in a cartoon, he sounds how he would sound in animation, IMO, not a real deep voice, can talk fast yet still be understood.

i would love to see patrick, tennant, and slater for flash villains i think they would be perfect choices.

Whenever the film is made, the song "The Ballad of Barry Allen" needs to be in it somewhere. Carmine Infantino is related to the person who sings the song (Jim Infantino) and did the cover art for a CD the group (called Jim's Big EGo) did. :)

I have a question....what do people think of Flash having something that covers his eyes
not goggle but some kind of material like Spiderman has on the eye sections his mask

spider_man_xl_03.jpg

^^^Some material like that

Eclipsed.jpg

In the end the mask could kind of look like a live action version of this

IDK Im just throwing ideas out

I think it'd be best if we could see his eyes. Flash is supposed to be trustable, and seeing his eyes helps with that. Plus, it makes it easier for the actor.

well maybe they could do what they did in the dark knight with the sonar eyes thing as maybe protection for his eyes while he is running but goes up when he is not moving fast.

I was trying to think on who should direct...and I realized I couldnt think of anyone
I mean I have the same problem with all the DC films except GL

For the Flash I cant think of a good action/comedy director

I could see Wally being highly comedic, though even he doesn't need to be for a good movie adaption they should just keep the humor to a minimum like in the Spider-man films while Barry Allen should be completely serious. You don't need comedy directors near this unless they're in Favreau's league.

Kerry Conran could be a good Flash director.

That being said I think I figured out a director

Okay.

I still think they don't need to make it a comedy to work, though.

I mean I'm a huge supporter for Wally West in the movie, so I think that the movie should have even more comedy than Iron Man.

OT:Are the Iron Man comics comical?

i see why many would want wally to be flash in first film but even if it was wally we would need to have orgin done in some way. So i think it would be better to start with the first of the modern age flashs and go with barry first, have wally appear in a small role in first film and then by end of second film or during 3rd film he becomes flash. Then like i and others have pointed out since barry is going to be flash again in the comics in the coming months dc would probably want to cash in and make movie flash be barry too. Heck if we get to start green lantern movie series with hal we should start flash with barry.

I'm in the small camp off ppl who dont wanna see any sidekicks in live action movies. (Kid Flash/Impulse, Robin, Aqualad, Speedy,Wonder Girl, Superboy, and definitely NO TEEN TITANS.) That being said I think that they should start the movie 2 days after the funeral of Barry Allen.
They can talk about how Wally used to be his biggest fan, have Iris West (Mary Louise Parker) be key to the film (seeing how Wally was more close to her than his own mother), have the Flash museum exist, have Barry come back in flashbacks at some points.

Now If they choose to have Barry in the film...I'm all for it. As long as the script and cast is good. But id still vastly prefer a Wally movie

Reasons for Barry
  • First Flash to wear the modern Flash suit
  • Was Flash for the longest
  • More Serious
  • In comics, one of the original member of Justice League

Reasons for Wally
  • Funnier
  • Modern Day Flash
  • All Flash TV Appearances (1990 Show, JL Animated, JL Live Action Pilot) even though 2 of them have been named Barry Allen have had more qualities for Wally
  • Wally is the fastest Flash

They can work, just do in a Teen Titans tv show or big budget movies separate from the franchises which their mentors would have. They should only appear as supporting cast in the solo franchises after their mentors have been set up right.

I hope they only do that with a new trilogy after Barry's.
