:woot: great videos!

"Cream and 37 sugar's.....really!!"

"You think we can't handle one dumb old gorilla.....no offense!"

"We have a martians phone number on are speed dial list, you should give me the benifit of the dout."

"Your a stand up guy Bat's....don't ever let them call you a crazy loner."

"Well I got alot to do, I'm getting the key to the city today, I need to practice my museum speech, and hey I better polish my boots."

What I would give for Michael Rosenbaum to be younger so that he could play a live action Wally West. Smallville already pissed away his talent, now he can't even play the character he was born for, Wally West.

DCAU Flash = near perfection imo
I just wish at sometimes that he could have been more serious, but I love him. He's what got me into The Flash back in middle school

It sucks that Marvel gets to have Avengers and DC is still waiting for a GL who ppl are already losing faith in

And Smallville does waste talent.

Great video's....I'd forgotten about the "I'm a stud" scene.

The DCAU Flash was awesome. It was great when he did infact have his serious moments.

I haven't lost faith in a GL movie yet. They have a good director, good script, and WB is going to need a tentpole film.

I truly believe that Rosenbaum left Smallville because he couldn't take the disappointment that is the show itself. Smallville itself can be classified as a waste. And now we can't get Rosey for Wally. So with that said, right now I'd probably go with Adam Brody as Wally, but I keep my eyes and ears open.

Yea its great that marvel studios/marvel in general is good and able to get their characters out there. I does suck alot for dc fans wb in reality doesnt need these comic films to help out at all since they got other properties out their they can get a film or a film series out there. It would probably greatly help out dc to get more films if they did have a subunit division to be solely for these properties but sadly that will not happen. As for gl it sucks alot here think things are going down hill and think the film isnt going to happen. Everything we keep hearing on it things seem to be going well with pre production and we know testing is happening and has been for awhile now. Let along they have like what 4 known drafts of a script ready to go.

IVe heard Brody's name get thrown around for Wally alot as well as Barry (he was cast in JLM). I haven't seen him act, but since I'm watching a bunch of movies this summer I might put a few of his movies on my list.

He doesnt have the standard look for Wally even with his hair dyed

But hey, alot of good scasting choices have come out of non standard looking choices. My number one is still Porter but, I'm open to new choices.

Who would you wan to play Barry, Jay, Zoom, etc.?

One of my biggest concerns with Brody is that he doesn't have the standard Wally look, and he doesn't have a standard Barry look either. But, I can be flexible with that stuff in most cases. And while Brody is best known for his role on the O.C., he really is a talented young actor with excellent range. I think Brody could nail the Wally West from "Born to Run" and the DCAU Wally. He can pull dramatic, emotional material with ease. And it was Brody's ability to pull off any kind of humor that helped make the O.C. huge in the first place. Goofball humor, over the top, smart ass, deadpan sarcasm, geeky remarks, you name it, he can pull it off. And while he is very far from an A-list, household name he is somewhat recognizable. I know that everyone on the hype would go see a Flash movie even if it was made with a cast of first time actors, but I think a Flash film might need a known name or two, although you can always take care of that by casting known actors in villian and supporting roles.

As for my other casting idea's, I'd have Peter Krause play an older Barry Allen, Mark Harmon as Jay Garrick, Amy Acker as Tina McGee, Moira Kelly as Iris West Allen, and Linda Park as Linda Park. I'm still trying to think of casting choices for Zoom, but thats the character I'd try to get a respected, big name actor for. If Batman Begins,TDK, and Star Trek taught me anything, it's that you don't need A-list superstar actors such as Arnold Schwarzenegger or John Travolta to create interest, you need actors who are famous for the quality of there work, like Christian Bale, Liam Neeson, Aaron Eckhart, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Heath Ledger, Maggie Gyllenhaal, etc. This way, in addition to the typical buzz a comic book movie brings, it will also create a buzz about the film being true quality, and that usually equals both financial and critical success.

And about Scott Porter, I personally feel he would make a much better Barry Allen if a Flash is indeed an origin flick featuring Allen.

Brody doesn't really look like Wally to me. I don't really think his face would look right in the mask, either. Porter on the other hand...

Fastest man alive, baby!

Porter would look better behind the mask, but I think Brody could act the part better. As an actor, Porter strikes me as Barry Allen, not Wally West.

I love talking Flash for a change.....

Flash Facts, post some more of that script if you have time.

Yeah, Porter would be a great Barry Allen. :D

Scott Porter IS Barry Allen! :woot:

One of the things that interest me is the uniform. How would you explain how Barry develops it?

If Peter Parker can so can Barry, also I don't think Scott Porter is good for Barry.

Spider-Man's suit is a regular suit, albeit very well-done for a teenager.

Flash's suit is a folding uniform capable of enduring extraordinary high pressures without torning or bursting into flames.

There's a difference.

It's just easier to say The Speed Force has something to do with it. That there's some kind of aura around him or something.

I think Porter could work as either Barry or Wally, but I personally see a lot more Wally in him (although I'm probably a little biased since I want Wally as Flash more than Barry).

Since I've got this whole "pass the torch" story thing in my head, I'm thinking Barry should probably be played by someone older and more mature looking. Preferably someone with naturally blond hair.

I see what your saying about concerns that Brody doesnt have the standard look for either. But Keaton didnt have the standard look and most people liked him.
Chris Evans doesnt have the look of Johnny Storm but even though he was in a crappy movie he's performance is well praised

And I still think Porter would make a better Wally than Barry. Not just because I like Wally more he just looks like him more imo

^^^there are some big pictures in this so I put spoiler around it

and watching Friday Night Lights his character his character reminded me of both Wally and Barry, but more Wally.

If they go with the origin of Barry, I noticed an actor in the Captain America thread thrown around that based on looks reminds me of Barry. I havent seen him act before tho so I cant vouch for that

20080131053957RyanAtwood.jpg

Ben McKenzie, he was on The OC just like Brody. I'll watch one of his movies to see how he could act. ALso I think sometime back someone mentioned him in this thread too

Question for every one:
IF it's an origin of Barry, who should play young Wally?
If its a passing of the torch Wally movie, who should play older Barry?
and
Who should play Jay Garrick in either?

Is the Speed Force appearing in the 1° movie a smart move?

Eh...it depends. You don't have to name it, or even show it, but I think it needs to be set up. Barry could just have an aura he doesn't quite understand, etc.
