I've been thinking, I wouldn never mention an actual date during my Flash movie. That way, I could imply the existence of Superman, Batman, and other masked heroes but not really set a timeline as to when my Flash movie happened in relation to when the eventual Superman reboot happened.

And then in the trailer, I could have Wally say, "I might not be Superman or Batman, but I got powers, I have a costume, check me out". I think that would be a fun line for a trailer.
that would be cool

Another potential Wally West I like is James Roday from the TV series "Psych." I'm not sure if he can carry a movie or not, but he carries Psych very well, and he's funny which is a valuable asset to the role.

His name has been thrown around alot for Wally before. He used to be my number one choice. But as time went on I kind shyed away from the idea of him as Wally. I dont know why, but I just didnt support him like I used to.
But if he gets cast i wouldnt mind

I could overlook the hair, but he's not nearly tall enough. Wally's the tall skinny guy.

Not nearly muscular enough for Barry. Barry's a pretty thick dude.

Since when? Traditionally, Barry was drawn as a lean, runner type. Infantino's Barry Allen was anything but thick.

It makes far, far more sense that The Flash look like a lean runner than someone who's musclebound.

Agreed. The Flash is one of those superheroes who doesn't need to be all bulked up.

So he isnt muscluar right now. I bet if he or hell any serious actor was cast in a role that required to have a buff bod. They would spend a few months in the gym and hitting the weights and get the right bod.

That's no the impression I got reading those comics. Even at his leanest Barry's still way thicker than that guy is.

Which comics have you read? I can't believe you read any of Infantino's work if you think that.

Oh yeah, and when looking at Wally West in Infantino's run for comparison, remember that Infantino drew him as a child, not as a miniature adult.

Here's a cover.

There's no sense of the word "thick" that I think describes Barry Allen.

Almost every comic book character is drawn muscular. Heck, Jim Lee's Alfred looks like a weightlifting champion. Barry Allen was clearly originally meant to be a leaner fellow. I believe the artists have even talked about this intention.

Ok, if you think that the guy from Psych can play this guy http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/m.../a4/Flash_v.1_137.jpg/300px-Flash_v.1_137.jpg then that's great, I don't' think he has it.

That's hardly "thick". In shape, sure, but those aren't two heavyweights going at it.

To play the Flash, all you have to be is in reasonably good shape. Look like you can run without getting winded. You don't have to look like someone who's walked off the set of 300. Or Thor.

Who else has seen this fake Flash trailer? I thought it was clever.

Darnit, when are we going to get some real news about this movie? :(

I liked the idea of the trailer
But I hope whenever they get to the film that Flash doesnt look like that when he runs.

But hey, I just want news from a Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, or any movies that are in the main DC continuity (not The SPirit, Vertigo titles)

I mean Jonah Hex and The Losers before Wonder Woman? Not that I think Hex and Loser will be bad I just wouldve preferred a film of one of the big 6

yt link not working for me, but if its the one i think it is it was a pretty nice fan trailer.

What I dont understand is why there can rarely be a straight adaptation of Wally or Barry

DCAU. Wally's personality, looks, name, lover interest. Barry's job, city, and no mention that he was ever kid Flash

The old Live action series. Barry by name, job, & homecity. Has Wally's love interest, and problems with being a speedster (need to eat alot), limit on speed, appearance

Even in the new Mortal Kombat vs DC game they claim its Barry Allen but

And his hometown is Keystone City

I dont see the big deal in making it one or the other

Now people might disagree with this (well one person in particular :whatever: ) but IMO it is because Wally had/has the superior character development and personality but he does not fit into the cookie cutter superhero model.

I think the best choice would be to have a blend of Wally and Barry and call him Wally, that way everyone would be happy.

that would still piss off people who want just the one character. Even though i am not a huge flash fan i rather have the characters be separate characters and each have their place. The film series should start with barry and then lead to wally. We just need to find the right way to have barry then go into wally to please the fans.
