Same here, I want a passing of the torch story. However, seeing as Johns made the treatment, and he's the mastermind behind what's probably the most infamous "taking back the torch" story in comicdom, I'm not holding my breath. He's an unapologetic Barry Allen fanboy, but he did write some excellent Wally West material back in the 90's, so if Warner Bros. wants Wally West then it's possible that he'll oblige.
I'd certainly rather have a Barry Allen Flash movie than no Flash movie at all, but I still want a movie about Barry dying and Wally taking up the mantle. If not in the first one, then in one of the sequels. I think that a story about a sidekick becoming a superhero would definitely set The Flash apart from all the other Superhero origin films out there. I'm really not all that interested in seeing Barry Allen get powers, learn how to use them, design a costume, and all that stuff when it's in every other origin film out there.
