I can only Gosling as Barry, when he was younger he might have been able to pull off Wally but not now really.

gosling is never likely going to be an option. as been stated by me and others comic book films in a genre he really isnt into doing at this point in his acting career.

So who here thinks that we are going to have a BARRY ALLEN movie? Who thinks it's going to be a WALLY WEST movie?

Let's say (hypothetically) that they choose someone like Scott Porter for Barry Allen in a Barry Allen-centered origin movie. Porter is not really all that old; he's still in his twenties, so if the filmmakers wanted to add Wally into the film for a younger supporting character, how old would he have to be? Assuming that Porter's in his twenties, wouldn't that make Wally somewhere like 13-15? (I could be totally wrong).

Just curious what you all think...

Well since it seems like Geoff Johns is working with Berlanti in developing the story for the film, I would think the movie will feature Barry.

Gosling would be great as Barry, but I would accept Porter as well.

Hmm...what about Josh Hartnett as Barry Allen?

yea i really think porter will really be gunning for this role now since all the other films he has lost out. And really i do think it would be best to start off with barry. To get the flash story going, we get to see the origin and start for barry. Thrown in the nods to jay. Then of course i would probably have barry/iris be in a good relationship with each other. So then wally would be a supporting player in the film. So while we are building up barry we can build up wally. So then they have the option to go with wally when ever they are suited. Then like i said if we went and have barry be like 27-29 yrs old for first film and wally around 17-19 yrs old. By the time we get to 2nd or 3rd film if they wanted wally to be flash, he would already be an adult and we can sidestep the whole kid flash stuff which to some would probably be a cheesy thing if they did it wrong. So then bam he can be the flash right off the bat and be at least character wise 24-26 yrs old bearing how much time passes between each film.

The good thing about this film likely being about Barry Allen is that I can still make a Wally West movie down the road, once I'm the big deal I'm destined to be lol.

yea totally like i pointed out even if its a full on barry origin film. There is still a place to have wally be a smaller supporting character. So while we are building up barry's character we also build up wally so if/when they want to he is ready to go as 2nd flash.

Yeah, well "destiny is a fickle *****" - Ben Linus from LOST

LOL

could be a possible contender, though i dont think he would accept the role. I do hope scott porter makes it to testing stage if it does get going within the next yr/ or 2.

A question I have to ask and yes its villain talk.

Who would be a good contender as 1st film villain.

There are many classic villains from The Flash library but just who would be a good starter baddie?

Some possible contenders - Mirror Master, The Shade, Captain Cold, Trickster, The Fiddler.

I have a few favourites but I would most like to see Mirror Master.

Perhaps even use him over two movies as long as the plot is done greatly for 1st film.

i would go with mirror master, or captain cold myself as a good starting off villain for film series. Now it would be cool if they did more then one, since flash is more known for his villain teamups. But i think it would be safe to start with one villain being the top/lead villain, and maybe throw in a secondary smaller villain too as a side threat, or could be lacky to the head one, and then once the head one is taken out becomes the bigger threat in later films.

For some reason I think this movie and wonder woman for that matter will depend on the success of Green Lantern. With that said, if they are looking at Green Lantern I think the earliest we would see a flash film is 2013 seeing as how 2012 will have batman and superman.

yea that is what alot of folks think will happen if gl is a good enough sucess it could help the studio see/have more faith in some of the other big guns. though i do say myself flash is the most likely one we see next. as for ww that is a whole other issue in it self but i do hope one day in next few yrs her character will happen.

then Josh would have to quit the Home Depot he's working at.

"Yes, I'm back in the game!", yells out Josh in the Hardware aisle.

Hey! I was just at Home Depot today contemplating paint options.

Didn't see Josh though......

Not Fade,

I think an MM supernatural detective show would be great on HBO. A one hour once a week show would be great if done by the write people.

If TRUE BLOOD can become a success, than an edgy, yet witty, supernatural MM show can certainly be successful.

Skaarsgard is a good choice for Green Arrow as well.

Flash close to greenlight:

NEW YORK -- Warner Bros. has scheduled "Sherlock Holmes 2" for a mid-December 2011 release and is getting close to giving the go-ahead for a movie about beloved DC Comics superhero "Flash."
...

Meyer particularly highlighted that DC Comics characters are key parts of Warner's future, mentioning a July 20, 2012 release date for the latest "Batman" film by Christopher Nolan and a holiday season 2012 "Superman" film.

He added that the studio is also "nearing" a greenlight for a "Flash" movie, with films featuring Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Mad magazine characters also in development.

:up:Yeah...I also like the fact that WB is developing a Aquaman movie.

That was more surprising than the Flash news! Didn't know that was still alive. (Though most surprised by the Mad Magazine news!)

Glad to hear that there is some progress on Flash.

nice to hear a greenlite for flash may be soon. hopefully it will be and it can start shooting in 2011 or 2012. i would peg it summer 2013 if the superman reboot gets 2012 release date.

Excellent news about Flash. I hope that Wonder Woman gets a greenlight soon too, but given that Flash is my #3 favorite DC hero I'm not going to complain if he gets priority.

I can definitely see Summer 2013 for Flash. Wonder Woman will probably be Christmas 2013 since fantasy films often do well at that time of year, and Wonder Woman has some similarities to Superman in terms of recognition. Clash of the Titans did well as a spring flick, but I think that since Wonder Woman is first and foremost a Superhero movie I think it will do well with a December release.
