Gambit wasn't leading them anyway. Him and Sunfire seem to be doing their own thing, but the connection with Sinister hasn't been explained, or revealed yet.

There was talk that he was actually leading them a while back. I am questioning that now. :)

Well, he's not leading them...

Mystique is. Remember that the preview for 200 said the Marauders would get a familiar face as their leader... And Mystique stepped up in 200.

I think it's more likely that Sunfire and Gambit are working for Sinister, but are independent from the Marauders. I'm sure they'll bang heads with a few more X-Men eventually, I think.

And yes, it is interesting that Gambit's not on the cover of 203. I brought that up as soon as I saw the cover...

Two villains reportedly return to the X-Ranks you know... But I can't see Gambit doing so until at least mid-way through "Messiah Complex"
I would love to see gambit return to a team eventually though I am enjoying him being written in character right now. :)

Gambit has so many aspects I can't get his character pegged down. Once I think I have him down, he goes and surprises me. Carey did an awesome job. I about passed out from the joy of seeing him again. That one spread was so hot. I have got to scan it onto my computer and display it for you guys if it hasn't already been posted.

Remy has got to come back to the X-Men. He seemed to give Cable a clue before he took him out. One can't be too sure about what Gambit's trying to do and who's side he's really on.

Not sure anything should be made out of it, what with that 'Emma on the baddies' cover' crap. :whatever:

But we know SOMETHING still has to come of that. They wouldn't just put her over there for fun. Even if it's a lame one issue deal, somthing will happen.

Well, Remy didn't really *mean* to become a baddie.

Never struck me as a guy who'd think 25 steps ahead (like the guy, but, COME ON), but it's not much of a stretch to think he's just 'going with it' for now.

Eh. Gambit is more of a "go with it" guy... But they have had him come up with his own intricate plans in the past.

See the quote in my signature.

But his codename means strategy. However, Gambit has been known to make decisions based off of adrenaline and emotion. When he calmly considers a situation, he can certainly come up with a good plan.

I was certain Remy hadn't gone all the way to evil. I so agree with you there. He didn't mean to.

He was brainwashed when Sinister picked him up. So if/when he got back to his right mind, he couldn't just walk away from Sinister.

Also very true. Though he was only half-brainwashed... He said himself that he was both Death and Gambit during the BoA arc.

Yes. I'm 25 and I have a college degree and then some. :yay:

Needless to say, Gambit and Sunfire really *****ed Cable up. Awesome.

Was just saying I highly doubt Gambit would outmanoeuver Sinister. ;)

Eh... However unlikely it'd seem, it sounds like Gumbo is going to betray Sinister at some point. And I doubt it's going to be one of those "Hey guys, I'm on your side now!" moments in the middle of a battle.

Dunno, I just sort of expect Sinister to have built/engineered some sort of fail-safe.

Mutant race dying and all.

Someone's going to betray Sinister. Don't know how, but lets just hope its Gambit and NOT Mystique.

Anyone want to bet that Gambit gets to the "Children of Men" knock-off baby before everyone else?

He DOES play a large role in Messiah Complex according to the writers...

Oh, and have ANYONE but Rogue off Mystique.

Just not sure I'd be able to deal with the melodrama. :wow:

You know what, have Cyke do it and tell Rogue to live with it. :D

Dude, we both know that if there's one not-so-baddie that's going to have some whacked out "25 steps ahead" plan it's going to be Mystique. They're going to find some stupid way to bring her back to the semi-good side.

That baby must be Gambit's illegitimate love-child. :cwink: Oh, the secrets he has yet to reveal.

I wonder how exactly Sinister got him back to his old, hot self.

*sigh*

Just let a guy dream, aight? :woot:

One page back, but here it is again:

He's done it before. Gambit (Vol 3) issue #11. One of my favorite Gambit appearances. He's cold as ice and wily as a fox.

I was disappointed by the C+DP appearance. Either Nicieza fell out of love with the character, or forgot what made him good, but his take on Gambit is way off IMO.
