"X4's A** is grass, and I am the lawnmower" - Remy Lebeau

from uncannyxmen.net
Real Name: Remy LeBeau
Universe/Timeline: Marvel Universe
Current Status: Horsemen of Apocalypse
Aliases: Le Diable Blanc, Robert Lord, Gambit
Nationality: Cajun
First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #266

Powers and Abilities:
convert an object's stored potential energy into explosive kinetic energy upon contact, hypnotic charm causing others to trust whatever he says, transmutator effect changes air into a noxious and lethal gas, extendable bo staff

Affiliations:
X-Men, Horsemen of Apocalypse, Thieves Guild, Unified Guilds, Crimson Pirates, gathered the Marauders

Notes:
Gambit became Death in X-Men (2nd series) #184. Death I is the embodiment of death, Death II belonged to a set of Horsemen that battled the Fantastic Four. Gambit's powers are constantly operating on low levels thanks to brain surgery by Sinister. At enhanced capacity, Gambit generates a constant field of passive energy that he can expand outwards to charge any form of matter within his field of vision. He could control kinetic energy to a better degree in this state, generating far more explosive power than usual or simply incinerating his target. Using his increased powers generated an augmented level of bio-kinetic energy within his body as well, heightening his strength, agility, and reflexes to a certain extent. Gambit's true name was revealed in X-Men (2nd series) #8.

"Spoiler" - Well im thinking that now we have Kitty, Bobby is going to go be with her after he leaves rogue cause she regained her powers back due to the "temporary effects" of the cure so it would be good to introduce Gambit for her.

You mean Rogue?

If there is an X4 it's gonna be Gambit's movie, no doubt.

Here are some actors who I think fit the bill of the "Ragin Cajun"

Milo Ventimiglia

Ian Somerhalder (popular candidate amongst Gambit fans)

Will Kemp (If he can get his arms down)

Ian Watkins (Not an actor, he's the singer for Lostprophets. Thought he looked a bit like anime Gambit, see above)

forget all of these guys. how about this, the casting director can go down to New Orleans and find him/her a real cajun. someone who can actually speak and actual cajun accent. perhaps me? maybe thats just a pipe dream but seriously. get the people to come down here and get them a real Gambit.

I'm sending Rothman there right now.

This a few months old, but it's encouraging to read this again.

Avi Arad on casting the role of Gambit for X3
not sure right now. Have to find an incredible actor but for only a small role. Everybody wants to have Gambit in the movie, but the actor must be able to carry a movie 2 years from now.

Avi Arad on casting the role of Gambit for X3

you know what that is the most interesting quote, because it gives us something to talk about

if avi arad can come through with it, this could mean he has to carry X4 much like Wolverine carried X1...just a thought

ooooo! i had a cool thought last night when i couldn't sleep casue X3 was so freaking cool! lol

Calisto and the Brotherhood members that survived go to the sewers to hideout when they get mauled and massacred(lol) very nightcrawler at the white house style but you can't see quite who it is

gambit shows up to the Manshion and can't remember anything cause sinister put a chip in his brain so he can't remember much

yeah it's very X2 and won't be what the movie is, but parts of what i wrote could happen ya know

Gambit has to be an older character, for some reason I am seeing someone like either Josh Lucas doing it...think it's the voice more than anything. The Rouge thing works cos we know she likes older guys from Wolvie and we know the cure is flawed so she can still get her powers back, she is a pretty high level mutant herself.

For Gambit to work he needs to have that older, world weary but wisecracking side to him. A younger actor wouldn't work for that. We've had the spy in the house thing with Mystique in the past, I think it would be more interesting for Wolvie to be the one to have to convince a cynical Gambit to join the X-Men, just as the others did with him once...

I think the guy who plays "Sawyer" on the tv show "Lost" would be absolutly perfect to be Gambit. He has the look, the attitude and the cajun accent.

bring in Jensen Ackles, Dean from Supernatural, for the role of the Cajun. I think he'd make an interesting Gambit.

what? I thought it's an interesting choice. okay okay. he's not right for Gambit. but u have to admit he'd make an interesting Havok.

mkay, this is just me, but i think ryan reynolds would be awesome for gambit if, and iff he can get the cajun lingo down.

Nah, In the comics Remy's always been portrayed as anywhere from 25-27 years old. Not old or "older" by any means. Plus, Josh Lucas looks a little too bald for the part.

you got some bad choices,im actually liking jared leto for the role, still prefer tim or ian though
