Still haven't figured wtf that subplot was all about (aka how it made sense), but, hey, any character not going for that worship crap gets points in my book. :woot:

I think it was Claremont trying to endorse Gambit/Rogue in his own way by having Gambit turn down Storm in favor of Rogue.

Was actually referring to why would Storm would flirt with Remy at this point in time...

Trust me, I *KNOW* Claremont loves the bring up chars by bringing others down. Well, not much in that specific scenario, but the basic principle still roughly is the same.

I was a bit WTF myself. Storm sees Gambit as a brother figure. Unless she's got a some fetishes I'd rather not talk about, she shouldn't have the hots for him like that.

Hell, bringing back Yukio and another mohawk would've almost made more sense, at that point. But then again, I guess Claremont finally figured out *exactly* what it looked like back in the days. :woot:

That, and it gets point for *not* having the WTF factor.

Gambit and Yukio hate each other. It would've been fun to see her brought back and Storm caught in the middle of their bickering.

You do know I meant Storm and Yukio, right??? :woot:

Figured Gambit would've been glad to have the weather witch off his back. :woot:

I know. I just want to see a story with the three of them on a thief mission and fighting the whole time!:woot:

Would rather both ladies get married and walk off into the sunset to get their happily ever after and never be heard of again, but what the hell... :woot:

Sure, your idea could work. That, too.

Yukio and Storm are sooo more than friends. CC wasnt exactly subtle with them

Eh. She *hangs out* with a woman for a couple of weeks, comes back with a mohawk, saying she's *changed*, and, oh yeah, pissed off at the world.

I won't even bother with a joke about how all that was missing was a purple outfit. Too easy.

Reminds me of the scene where Longshot was first introduced to the X-men. All the X-girls where going ga-ga over him (batting eye lashes, giggling, little hearts drawn over their heads, etc) except for Storm who just stood there in her mohawk, looking PO'ed and shouting "What are you doing here!" or something to that effect.

Real subtle, Chris.:whatever:

Maybe Storm doesn't like blondes.
bc she likes em dark like Yukio...lol. Anyone who has any doubts needs to go check out X-treme X-men. CC really made the hints pretty loud there

Such a pity to see my favorite character's thread turned to this...all because of a silly fight against my other favorite character.

Well the fight is over FLavio. We all agreed that Gambit owns Rogue :oldrazz: Besides it really was nothing more than a good discussion and that never hurt anybody.

Remy is fly. I love his character, but people feel they need
to diss one to make the other look good, LOL.
I'm sorry but I am defending Rogue at all costs.:cwink:

Despite a few lost tempers, we were doing nothing more than discussing character flaws.

Andy Schmidt recently gave an interview with a fansite I used to drop by from time to time.

Go into the tete-a-tete section and there at the bottom is the link to the interview.

X-treme X-men was the last time I thought Gambit had any decent writing
Nah, his second ongoing wasn't that bad and that came after. :) I was bummed that they cancelled the book.

I thought the second on-going was good if you took it for what it was: a cheezy but fun little jaunt through New Orleans with Gambit.

well Im not a Gambit fan so I havent read any of his solos. Ive strictly followed him from the X books and he's been a mess there for the past 10 years, aside from X-treme

True. Editorial seems to have it out for him (ex: they ordered the blinding) so it's not simply a case of bad writing.

at least his fans had those solos to look forward too, bc the X-men books havent been kind to him. CC at least got him and its a shame that he lost him when he took over UXM bc the Austen/Milligan combo was a killer for him
