Apparently, the fight between Deadpool and Sabertooth (then Cable and Sabes) happens shortly after Victor comes out of hiding after crashing the Conquistador. I suppose thats when the Marauders come calling, possibly to welcome Victor back into the fold.

I never got to know Deadpool, so I can't comment on him. I heard that Gambit gave him a million dollar (or so) check as payment for Deadpool to spare his life and Belladonna convinced him that it was a fake, when it actually wasn't, so he tore it up.

The Endangered Species one-shot came out today. X-Men #200 comes out next week on Wednesday, June 27. I can't wait.

Well, it wasn't so much Bella convincing him it worthless as it was Bella thinking Gambit was broke and not knowing about all the money Gambit made in the stock-market during that bit of time-traveling he did.

Ugh. Don't get into the whole time-traveling thing. That was bad all around, I thought.

That and all that stuff about Guild prophesies and the Old Kingdom need to be retconned out of existence; they make his backstory pretty hokey IMO. The Guilds simply need to be New Orleans gangs, perhaps backed by a few corrupt politicians. It makes them much more relevant and modern that way.

That'd make a lot more sense. But what we've got is pretty much what's come to be expected when a character gets a solo story. A lot of whacked out crap that's confusing... :woot:

She's fine. She's Gambit's second in command now. The Guilds have been unified. Belle had a corrupt boyfriend, named Bandit, who wanted to get rid of Gambit and her and take over the guilds for himself, but that got remedied pretty quickly. I actually have both TPB's for Gambit's second full-length series. That was awesome. I like the Guild prophecies and all that supernatural stuff. Realism isn't my thing really.

I never did like Belladonna. She always seemed so angry whenever I saw her

Rock on with the sarcasm. :D

Seriously, though, anger is one thing. Public hissy fits/tantrums and/or being a playground bully while never f****n apologizing is another. :D

I've always wondered, is Belladonna a mutant, or did she get her powers some other way? That is if she still has powers.

Also, in the interview with Carey, he did say that they probably would address Apoccy's comment about Gambits "heritage" in 2008 sometime. I guess that means he's essentially a lock for the adjectiveless roster then, right?

What is the story with Gambit now?

Haven't kept up with him at all recently and he was my favorite X-men growing up. I know he's making a return in X-men 200....but as a villain!?!? How did that happen? Will he be playing a major part?

i wouldnt say major, bigs probably more appropriate.. hes a marauder in his return.

Gambit left the X-men by allowing himself to become a Horseman of Death for Apocolypse (may Milligan roast in the hell of igniting anal gasses for that misplay of character..!). Apoc was defeated as usual and Gambit went into hiding, going back to Sinister -- another misplay of character (may Milligan be tormented forever in the hell of biting flies...!). Many of us now hope that Gambit will return and eventually be returned to the X-men. Hoping. *crosses fingers*

Well, Carey's said he's going to try and give all that a logical explanation in due time. Not sure how he'll manage to accomplish that without writing him even more OOC than before. I suppose if they just say "he was a double-agent all along, but got brainwashed" and just ignore any details that may contradict that, it would suffice (you certainly wouldn't hear Gambit-fans complaining).

Yeah, I wouldn't be complaining either. :D

The more I think about it, the more it sounds like a "Oh, but he HAD a plan. Just a really really f****n stupid one" scenario. :csad:

But then again, maybe they want him to commiserate with Rogue. :wow:

Carey's got a hell of a job ready for him. He's got to make "joining a genocidal warlord who you know beyond a shadow of a doubt is evil in some attempt to keep an eye on him despite the fact he brainwashes and deforms his servants, something else I'm well aware of since I directly caused one such occurance and saw a second occurance firsthand." Sound like something Gambit would think was a good idea.:oldrazz:

SKRULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The real deal was somewhere out there, smoking, drinking and banging but got captured months ago. :woot:
