They've had their ups and downs. When it was good, it was real good. When it was bad, it was terrible. But with Cyclops and Emma... it's always terrible

Emma and Cyke's relationship, for all it's problems, is far more mature and adult than Romy has ever been or will be.
no freakin' way. you cannot compare emma and scott's sex based/emotional abusive relationship to ROMY. not possible. no way. though the chances of those two being together are like nil, seeing that he's still with sinister in messiah complex.
though, i still say he owes her for all the BS he pulled.

Darth could explain it better than me, but I can say that Scott/Emma actually talk to each other and communicate like two adults should instead of just screaming at each other, causing property damage, and being snarky all the time. That by itself puts it above Romy.

Let me put it another way: If Scott/Emma happened in real life to one of my friends, I'd disapprove, but wouldn't object. If Romy happened to one of my friends, I'd demand they stop seeing each other and be worried about their mental health.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Romy is like Jason: you just can't kill it no matter how hard you try.

though, i still say he owes her for all the BS he pulled.

Does humiliation count? If it does, he's getting one hell of a comeuppance in #204.

Okay.

I read the summary.

Even though I'm not following the damn event, just because I want to know what CanCan's hooplah is about.

I have this to say.

Gambit is *****-whipped, but I find it amusing. I also think he's maybe faking it a bit.

Cyclops is ROXOR.

Bobby is Sam's gay lover, BUT he also has a hard-on for Rogue.

Mystique. Is. Roxor. *****es.

So you wouldn't object if your friend would cheat on his girlfriend and then would kiss the strumpet on his dead girlfriend's grave. That would seem alright with you, would it?

The relationship was handled poorly but it's not the characters fault. Given the cance they could be happy together. marvel writers just hate happy couples.

Oh please. Like this even COMPARES to Gambit blinding himself like an idiot or joining Apocalypse.

:whatever:

Did you not read the part where I said I'd disapprove?

Romy's defining feature is that it's unstable and angsty. A Romy that isn't being written like a bad soap is like Wolverine being written without a temper.

Well, he's acting like an idiot and getting punked, he's pathetically dependent on Rogue, and he's helping a villain he should want nothing to do with. It sure sounds like Austen/Milligan caliber stuff to me.

God :( Talk about a ****ty edition.

Yes, their past and relationship had to somehow be acknowledged, but this? It feels like they never ahd problems and were only spearated by enemy families :(
Why can't anyone write Gambit and Rogue correctly? :(

No emotional abuse in ROMY?? Gotta love delusion. Bwahahahahahahaha.

And god damnit, where the f**k does this 'Scott/Emma Sex Only' thingy comes from?

The editors have been shoving it down our throats that it wasn't in the Phoenix minis. Even Whedon got there and he's always been upfront about being more of a Scott/Jean fan.

They flirted, they had adventures together, they were even happy some times. Yes the relationship was overblown and overhyped but they still had some good times together.

Well, he's acting like an idiot and getting punked,
Ah, how?

he's pathetically dependent on Rogue
He's been through a lot and Rogue was the only one who defended him even when he was Death.

, and he's helping a villain he should want nothing to do with.
Sinister has helped Gambit just as much as he has manipulated him. We don't know what kind of relationship there is between those two characters yet. If Sinister helped him get rid of Poccy's implants then I say good on him.

It sure sounds like Austen/Milligan caliber stuff to me.

Hmmmmno. Not quite there yet. I say that everything that is NOT related to atomic fart powers is an improvement for Gambit.

Those seem to be a thing of he past, so I'd rather Romy be a thing of the past as well. It's gotten to the point where the romance is just toxic for the characters.

Ah, how?

In #204 he freaks out and tries to take on Sinister by himself after Sinny considers not helping Rogue. Predictably, Gambit gets put in his place.

He's been through a lot and Rogue was the only one who defended him even when he was Death.

So? Doesn't mean he should have a breakdown. Though personally, I wouldn't go near Rogue while in an emotionally vulnerable state since she's just as likely to try and kill me as take my side.

Sinister has helped Gambit just as much as he has manipulated. We don't know what the relationship between those two characters are yet. If Sinsiter helped him get rid of Poccy's implants then I say good on him.

Yes, getting help from Sinister is never a proverbial deal with the devil. And it's not like Gambit has had previous experience with this that would make him aware of the price Sinister's aid carries.

Yes, and predictably... Sinister doesn't kill Rogue. Gambit knew that if he at least distracted Sinister long enough he'd either a) forget about Rogue and just focus on reprimanding him or b) Mystique would intervene. Which she did. Gambit got his way.

Gambit knows that. He was in that same exact state while being a horseman and SHE didn't run away. Why would he?

Point is, Sinister always helps Gambit, even if there's a price. It's the game that they play, and remy has gotten pretty good at it. At least with Sinister he knows what he's getting into. On the other hand he has trusted the X-men and they turned their back on him more than once.

Gambit has to got to be planning something. He can't be that stupid after being "fooled" the first time he made a deal with Sinister. I bet he'll betray him sooner or later. And i hope so too.

at least Rogue's power gave them an exuse. Scott and Emma's relationship is based on Scott emotionally distancing himself from Jean and looking for the next best thing.

gee, i wonder where...? maybe it came from the fact thats how their 'relationship' started.

nope. i was thinking more along the lines of him getting his ass whooped.

No, it doesn't. Rogue is completely schizoid even without her powers.

And it's STILL more healthy than Romy.

nope. i was thinking more along the lines of him getting his ass whooped.

For what exactly?

Jesus, people are blowing this 'abuse' thing out of proportion. Emma was a total b**ch in Torn. Other than that, they've argued and she's been snappy at times. :whatever:

And I denied this where? I thought it was obvious I was referring to the OVERALL relationship. You'd think the Minis and 'Whedon getting there' lines would've helped convey that. :oldrazz:

So I'm guessing the Lady Deathstrike cover pretty much confirms what we've all known would happen from the start: Gambit will return to the X-men and he'll be getting his ass kicked.

Ok so i read the summary and i am not happy. I understand that even after all that has happened Gambit wouldn't simply want Rogue dead or hurt but come on! Gambit knows how to keep his cool, he knows how to hide his emotions and make a "pokerface". It just silly to act like he does. Does he want to blow his cover?

Hmmm...I wonder about that-though I am happy, judging by the covers I've seen,to see him back with the Xmen-but I think he always has his own plan, every move he makes has some effect or other and he always plays to win;and he is a gambler, a darn good one, too...I can't see him 'break down' like the spoilers so far say without a reason,he's too much of a player!Sooo... I'll reserve judgement for when we have the whole picture here!!;)

wheres the cover?

wheres the cover?

Quick question. When does that cover take place chronologically? Like, how deep into MC? Do we know yet?

It'd have to be near the end if Gambit's on the good guy's side. No use pulling an "unexpected" betrayal right at the beginning.

Ha. True.

I saw that New X-Men cover where X-23 fights Lady Deathstrike and came to a conclusion...

If LD beats up the team and X-23 suddenly beats her down and saves the day, I might just burn every comic book I can find...

I'm guessing thats near the end, since thats where most of the covers they shown yet are.

Heh, they could just skip the formalities and have him switch sides in the one-shot. I'm sure everyone, X Men and Marauders included, already see it coming.

Everyone except Sinny.

Heh. I can just see Sinister acting all dramatically surprised, with the Marauders snickering and shaking their heads at him from behind.

....There needs to be a Marauder mini-series.
