You mean Millar? He didn't write Gambit in. Chuck Austen wrote issues 13-15 as a fill-in writer. Millar just ignored Gambit. So did Bendis. I *wish* Vaughan and Kirkman had ignored him.

Could someone with the issue please clarify? What happens?

What? You didn't like Vaughan's Gambit? I thought he did a pretty good job. The ruthlesness was there, the wit, the boldness and almost everything that i like about Gambit.

i agree with Silverphoenix. There are so many interesting aspects to Gambit's personality he should be a writers wet dream.

He was a total moron who was tricked into working for two very obviously evil people, who's life philosophy got disproven by a 14 year old kid, got his ass kicked by everyone he met, had all the bad harlequin romance cliches added to his story(the ones I mrentioned earlier), had a ridiculous outfit, and once more became a plot device for Rogue. It was like a bad parody of post 2000 616 Gambit.

Did you mention the hair? :woot:

darth, can. there had to be a time in where you guys liked gambit, or at least could stand him.

He had a lot more growing up to do compared to 616 Gambit but i liked him. The romance was kinda forced and don't even get me started on the hair. He only got his ass handed to him by Rogue and Wolverine. And that was after he totally owned Wolvie when they first met.

Sure, once upon a time.

Before he was mostly defined by how devoted he was to the Romy mess. *gags*

Refer to the sickenly cute thingy I brought up earlier.

I thought it was more of a word of wisdom to Romy supporters...

Guess Kol was afraid you were gearing up for another anti-Romy rant. :woot:

How would anyone even think I'd go another rant right after I decided to just refer to a previous one just to be done with it? :D

I actually wasn't all that displeased with #204. It wasn't too ROMY and it wasn't the whole book, their conversation, such as it was.

even though the whole 'emma and scott made gambit go to apocalypse on purpose' sounds interesting, and makes a reasonable excuse. isnt it contradicting the idea that gambit can block psychics? hell betsy couldnt look through his mind, he kicked her out, and he was in a coma.
i just want to know. if carey can make sense out of miligan's story then he is a genius

Where is this coming from? Anyway, it would obviously be a cheap cop-out. You know what, i don't need a polite friendly explanation. I already have an explanation.

Somebody screwed up. Somebody screwed up big time. Somebody pissed all over our favourite character. My money is on Milligan, but hey, he may be he writer but the ain't the editor. he's just a little player in a big game.

I'm willing to accept what happeend because I don't own the rights of the character. Gambit isn't mine. He belongs to Marvel, and for better or worse, marvel gets to decide what to do with him (though Lord knows they make some ******ed decisions some times)

Point is. I don't want to go back and have them politely explain what happened hoping to appease my righteous anger. You screwed up. Best you can do is let the character move on and forget that crap ever happened.

EDIT: Post #7000 baby. :)

So, really, since Gambit isn't really bothering to cover up his motives, how long can he really stay with the Marauders? I figure it'll be before the halfway mark of the crossover at this rate.

Well, he'll still be on the baddies' side during 205's big brawl, right? That's, what, chapter 5?

It looks like it. Those sketches make it look like he's trying to move away from the battle, only for Wolvie to pick him out.

Better Wolvie than Archangel.

WTF is up with him being *that* upset about Rogue going MIA anyway in the one-shot?
