i doubt gambit will be in the wolverine film, though if he is going to be in it then i got to see how the hell the writers are going to relate those characters, are they gonna meet in canada? or is logan going to new orleans???? it would make more sense if gambit first appeared in a x-movie first.
i change my mind about gambit dying. kinda realized that if he is killed in 616 then all (and/or most) gambits in all the marvel universe are gone.
i dont hate him that much.
(cylops though, is a different story...)

Gambit doesn't belong in the Wolverine movie, if you ask me. The two never had ties like that. He would be out of place. It would be more appropriate to have Wild Child than Gambit.

Part of the filming for the Wolverine film is going to be shot in New Orleans.

*crosses fingers*

A crossover always means casualties!

That is true but i don't even care about that anymore. I just wanna see Gambit in a X-movie. But isn't this movie supposed to be a prequel? That would make it impossible for Gambit to appear.

Gambit is not going to be in the Wolverine movie. Just because some filming occurs in New Orleans doesn't mean Gambit has to be in it.

I think it's indicative, given the movie is an X-men property. I believe there's also an interview out there with one of the execs that mentions a fan-favorite who was left out of X-3 will be incorporated.

No one seems to understand that this movie doesn't abide by any continuity but its own... They can do whatever the want, really, as long as they don't mess with the stuff they established in X1-X3. And since Gambit ain't in those movies... He's open game.

True. It's possible that, in this continuity, Gambit never even meets the X-men since he lived 50 years before they were founded. Or he may be a youngster in the Wolvie film and a middle-aged guy in X-4(if he appears at all).

I went over my thoughts in the other thread, but...

I think it's misleading. My money is on Lady M again stumping Logan, who probably then gets blasted by either Gambit or another Marauder. That kind of shot would probably kill Gambit, who obviously lives until at the very least the latter half of the crossover.

It's something we saw Gambit do to Logan early on... and would be a way to score Gambit some points with fans after years of crap.

That, and wasn't there a sketch art for this issue that showed Wolvie and Nightcrawler sprawled out in the snow??? So it's not like they're going to win...

You know, I thought it'd be hard turning my back on what used to be a favorite character, but with stuff like this happening on a near-constant basis, it's easy as hell.

If they throw in a "Bang. You dead." it might even come off as cool.

True.

But if it is the Lady M scenario, they have to let Gambit be the one to hit Wolvie's when he's all caught up in the illusion.

Well, duh. A handfull of cards could be what blows Logan's suit to shreds.

There's a theory that Gambit's re-using the strategy from his first fight with Logan. Working with Lady M to make Kurt look like him, Gambit tricks Logan into skewering Kurt before KO'ing Logan with a bunch of cards.

Would make a whole bunch of sense and explain why Gambit didn't blow the f**k out of him right on sight.

Although it raises the question as why he didn't DO EXACTLY JUST THAT rather than go an elaborate mindf**k...???

I seriously hope that it is some kind of illusion/projection that Wolverine's beating up. I just can't imagine Gambit going down so easily to Wolverine.

Sorry, I keep hearing people say that Gambit used a projection trick on Wolverine before. Could someone elaborate please?

Because Lady M initiated things before Gambit had a chance to do much else?

I mean, I doubt Gambit would let Kurt get stabbed on purpose (since we know he's gonna play traitor soon enough), so it's possible that Lady M starts doing her own thing with Logan/Kurt, and Gambit finishes it off by blasting Wolverine.
