Sorry, I keep hearing people say that Gambit used a projection trick on Wolverine before. Could someone elaborate please?

When Gambit first joined the X-men, Wolverine wanted to fight him in the Danger Room(gotta be the alpha male :whatever:), but got his ass beat when Gambit used the room's holograms to distract Logan while he sneak attacked him.

Thanks.

Can you give me the issue number or can it be collected in a TPB?

Wow, those were the days when writers could actually write a decent Gambit. :word: Sigh, now we are stuck with idiots who don't bother to understand his character and personality. :cmad: I'm hoping that Messiah Complex will restore some of his image but I doubt it. But we can all hope....

The added panel of Jubilee crying cuz Wolvie got his ass beat makes it that much better.

Uncanny 273. Aren't you listening? :woot:

No, no, no.

I never said anything about blasting Wolvie or any brawler not being cool IN ITSELF.

Just saying not using illusions/decoys and just going for it is betta. :woot:

The whole cojones balls-to-the-walls thingy.

Sometimes, it's better to show style than cojones. Though ignoring either is a recipe for disaster.

We're more likely to get Gambit apologizing to Logan followed by a two page spread of their moments together...:woot:

Not while trying to assert oneself as a bada$$.

Works, but the full frontal assault, no matter how braindead, is even better.

Well, looking at the top panel of the preview page, it looks like the possible-fake Gambit kicks Logan in the balls. That good enough?

You've gotta understand Gambit's character though. He's not a full frontal brawler. He's a behind-the-back trickster. He doesn't care how he wins, as long as he, you know, wins.

Thus, the illusion thing is more his style.

Well, yeah, sure if actual planning's involved.

Does #205's smackdown qualifies as that?

Just, what, he and Lady M made a deal that if any brawler went after him, she'd cover his a$$? :D

So...wolverine is not really going against Gambit, he thinks he is, courtesy or Lady M's illusions?:oI do hope not, I am all for a Gambit/Wolvie all-out brawl!!:p

Why not? Chances are they're already knocking boots.

You wish Canemacar, you wish.

Hell, I do too. But we all know that current-Gambit wouldn't do that to Rogue.

Darth- It's not like Lady M can do much more in a fight than mess with people's heads... So her teaming up to take down a powerhouse like Wolvie (and maybe Kurt on the side) is a helluva lot more than most of the Marauders would expect from her.

Which sucks because Carey was originally planing for Rogue to screw someone while Gambit was M.I.A.

No joke.

I know, I remember reading the interviews.

But the editors are dead set on reuniting the characters, it seems...

Had to twist the knife, didn't ya?

And that's where thou fail, my friend.

Wolvie is basically indestructible, sure. Doesn't equate powerhouse. Hell, all you need is a strong guy holding locking his arms from behind and fight's over. Say, a la Hank in Planet X. :woot:

Gambit and Lady M aren't exactly powerhouses either. It makes sense they'd deal with the lower-level threats of Wolverine and Nightcrawler while leaving Storm and Emma to Sinister or Exodus.

It shouldn't really be much of a fight anyway. I mean, its the combined Marauders and Acolytes against 5 X Men.

And one of them is Angel.

Gambit totally could blast the f**k out of Storm. Hell, she's walking around waving a f****n spear rather than going for ranged airborne attacks. :D

No such luck for Lady M, eh, gotta give ya that one.
