Maybe even have sort of a shady Brotherhood to match Gambit's style.

Have a roster of former X-Men that don't get used much and have sort of shady allegiances.

Maybe bring in a Random from the Marauders, Marrow, Cecilia Reyes, Feral......................

I'm trying to think of characters that could use some more spotlight treatment but aren't exactly loyal to the X-Men's cause.

I wasn't even a part of the discussion and I got chewed out for posting.

Eh, 616 Gambit was never the leader type. He's too much of a lone flyer. He "led" a team for a few issues at one point, but that was just to further his own interests.

Gambit seperated from the X-Men (though not necessarily a villain), has potential.

Yea I don't Gambit as the "leader" type either.

Like you see said, he's a bit too much of a loner. He keeps to himself and prefers it that way. The idea of "leading" a group probably doesn't mean much to him at all.

There was an arc a long while back where he did lead and he did well. His team went after a bunch of slavers. He had Storm and Rogue and Beast and I can't remember who else. It was a good arc. :)

so in mc, one is supposed to lead them (cyclops obviously), one is suppposed to betray them, and one is supposed to save them.
my money is on beast betraying them, and if that 205 cover shows any truth (and the way carey is boasting about him) then i guessin that remy is going to save them.
only guessing here. :woot:

The Gambit saving part I like, but I don't want Beast to be a bad guy. :(

Wow, Carey's been boasting about Gambit?

*Spoiler Warning on link below...and go to #205*

Yeah, he's doing a real bang-up job... :whatever:

Well wikipedia is not the most reliable of sources. We'll just have to wait and see.

The 205 summary on wiki has been pulled. I read it beforehand...

First, it was on wikipedia, which means nothing. I mean... some of the stuff sounded believable, but there were sketchy parts.

That, and even if it is true, we are only on Chapter 5 of Messiah Complex. So there's plenty of time for what happens to play out.

Basically, it's whats convinced me Gambit would be better off with Milligan writing.

"Stabs him in the gut/stomach" I believe was the expression. :)

Well, I read a spoiler on CBR... and it seems like wiki summary was true.

Shame for Gambit, as the writers continue to desecrate his character.

Though I'll wait it out and try to see where this "Gambit becomes bigger than we realized" thing plays out. We'll see.

The only light I see at the end of the tunnel is that the mutant that has the baby probably got the info about it from Gambit's "before dawn" comment back in 200...

i thought that too after reading the spoiler on wikipedia. i'm gonna wait to say anything about gambit being a wimp, i gotta see what carey has in store for him (besides getting beat by ol'wolvie).

My books didn't come today so I didn't get to read #205. :( I hope he ddin't get kilded or anything. :(

does any one remember before gambit turned into death, he had a talk with emma about something?

Yeah, we talked about that a ways back.

The general consensus was that if we find out the last year or so of Gambit has been him acting under Emma/Scott's orders... then it'd really be stretching it in terms of believability.

Then again, there still seems to be very little general shock among the team that Gambit is not only back to normal (looks wise anyway), but also working with Sinister.
