Woah, TheCorpulent1 gave the movie a one. I have never seen a Moderator from this website give a comic book movie such a low rating when it comes to a comic book movie about a major comic book superhero. Oh well.

Hilarious, should we compare Marvel against DC as a whole on Rotten?

Wouldn't be pretty.........

That wasn't meant for a DC vs. Marvel comparison. We're comparing two individual films.

Someone was naive enough to gloat about Ebert giving Green Lemon 2.5 stars and a better review than Thor .... as if he's the only critic left on the planet. Sorry, doesn't pass the sniff test and the RT critics ratings show it. It's not even a contest.

Ebert also gave First Class a 2.5 And according to the way Ebert rates movies, 2.5 is negative.

if I remember correctly, all nolan did to goyers Begins script was spell check it and direct it as subtle as he could.
Nope, Goyer's version had Bruce straight-up offering to give up Batman for Rachel, Batman magically finding/emptying a shotgun Falcone had hidden in his limousine before the attack on the docks, Bruce leaving on his black eye make-up when going to his birthday party, and all kinds of other stupid s*** I can't remember anymore. I still feel the script for BB is its weakest element, but Nolan made significant improvements, imo.

David Goyer is one of the worst high-profile screenwriters working today, imo. His plotting is pretty generic (his 3rd acts are always weak), his dialogue and characterization is godawful. The only reason I like him working on the Batman movies is because he's an expert on the comics, as someone working on them needs to be. As long as he just helps come up with the story, it's fine, but the less he touches the actual screenplay, the better, imo. That's why I was super concerned about MoS until we learned that the Nolan bros were doing some rewrites.

well nolan also didn't want batman to have a cape, or a vehicle

they balance each other out very well though

Man im starting to get worried about future DC films. So far Green Lantern has a 22% rating on rotten tomatoes. I've never seen a comic book movie rated that bad.

Which is why I said his comic fanboy-ness justifies his presence on the franchise, but it doesn't exactly increase his talent as a screenwriter.

Well, he would have made it work just as well...because before Chuck Norris goes to sleep at night, he checks under his bed to see if Nolan is hiding there.

That's how %$#@'in bad-ass Nolan is, yo?

What the ****? :wow:

I know right? I know the boards are a Nolan love fest nowadays, but let me just say you gotta hand it to Nolan for working well with others. Goyer, the comic fan, tells Nolan he needs a cape and a vehicle. Nolan doesn't just throw them in there to please him, he makes two GREAT chase scenes( one in each Batman film) and he gives a decent amount of the "getting all of the gadgets to become Batman" part in Begins to him and Fox talking about the functions of The Cape and the Tumbler.

When Nolan visits the Queen...she kisses HIS hand.

To each their own...I really don't consider him a very good filmmaker outside of his visual shtick, which in and of itself gets pretty tiresome as well.

By the way....Iron Man 2, which you panned, had a higher tomato than Burton's Batman.

Give Iron man 2 20 years lol...i guarantee you it will drop withing 5 years to a lower rate as the tomato meter does shift throughout the years. batman Begins went up after The Dark Knight came out

Something tells me that 20 years from now...you'll be checking.

You should check out supergirl, superman 3 and 4 and some others.

just saw the movie and im completely stunned at how the critics hated this...
i enjoyed very much near how i enjoyed Thor.

it was pretty cookie cutter (but in the best possible way) but Martin Campbells awesome direction saved the movie.

whoever played hal's guy/nerd friend was f'ing horrible.. not even jar jar binks had lines that cringeworthy.

not sure how id rate this movie tho...same as thor, i dont see myself having to see this ever again or blown away by anything like x-men first class.

7.7 out of 10... the critics need to clam down with the 23%, nowhere near that

lmao...ill be directing movies then so it will be my movies in this forum. Maybe one day i can bring black panther to the big screen and blow yall away

I think this is the best answer to any questions in regards to a sequel.

"It's over, I'm sorry but it's over."

Harry just posted a positive review on AICN. It's a somewhat biased review I feel because he kind of latched on to the GL mythology to inspire his own weightloss and since it was a success I don't think he could bring himself to really hate the movie, but hey. We need a little positive bias like that I say. With the way the movie is getting bashed.

Nolan is good but he is flawed too in his presentation at times. The choreography in TDK was laughable at times. very slow and uninspired action at many points. wasnt a fan of the batman fight with joker goons and also what happened to all the ninjitsu training in BB? it seemed that whole feel of dark brooding creature disappeared for just a man in a mask with cool gadgets which was a bummer tho i LOVED the actual film. Batman himself was the weakest point of it. In Batman begins i LOVED batman's interpretation and the styles are very different. I cant see bats flying around etc in TDK...wouldnt fit that tone
