Well "bad" can mean different things to diffrent people. But they should at least be able to point of flaws

Did you just start reading the thread? There's several professional reviews that get in depth and hell, I wrote one myself, posted several pages back. If you don't agree, that's absolutely fine, but don't try and tell me people aren't giving reasons for why they didn't like it.

I'm specifically referring to that type of fan that refuses to say anything negative because of their attachment to a character. The same fan who jumps up and down on the 80% of critics who say negative things and accuses fellow supporters of being picky and having standards that are too high, generally the line 'what were you expecting from a superhero film?' gets thrown about in abundance, followed by a stubborn insistence that everyone in their cinema 'loved it', and culminating in lame arse excuses blaming everything from a poor release date to the weather when it fails at the box office.

I just don't understand why they didn't focus more on Oa.

Have Hal go to Oa, and STAY THERE for a while. Show him actually learn how to be a GL, instead of a 10 minute training scene. Show him interacting with the other Corps members, having lunch or in a barracks or something. Show him go along on missions as a rookie, learning from more experieced Lanterns (like Sinestro) in the field.

Basically, more like First Flight.

I'm curious as to how RT figures out a Fresh vs. Rotten rating. A lot of these supposedly Fresh reviews sound pretty negative.

Ok, I saw it. Not gonna harp on it. Not gonna in-depth tear it down(because it doesn't need my help and I don't like kicking a film when it's already down). It's crappy Fox-made marvel movie level stuff.

5/10

Certainly not the worst but it's bad.

Yea i've noticed that. The little summeries seem scathing... but they have a big red tomato next to them.

that's probably the most accurate analogy we're gonna get.

Harry Knowles more or less loves it.
really does seem that guy is all about championing films he likes these days.

Yeah, it was pretty much a foregone conclusion Knowles was going to love it after he got free shwag from WB. This is the guy that once had an article titled "ME WANT PWESENTS!" I hate to throw around a word like "shill" but it's frequently really difficult to take that guy seriously.

rule #57: Never pay attention to a Harry Knowles review be it good or bad(especailly concerning genre movies).

True that. I don't even check that site anymore- seems bought and paid for

Saw the movie today, I liked many parts of it, the pacing seemed off, some parts which should have been longer were short and other which could have been short were longer than required, but I enjoyed it.

CGI was good, and the suit looked surprisingly good but mask looked weird, I can live with that, this movie required a GL theme which was absent, which is odd.

Overall, a good introduction of GL mythos and DC Universe, let me say this despite some flaws, this movie is not as bad as many reviews seemed to indicate, go and see this yourself and then judge.

My rating - 6 / 10
(it would have been higher if they included more Space stuff.)

Reminds me of X-Men The Last Stand, and some fans didn't believe reviewers who said the run time was 90 minutes and that Cyclops was killed. Some fans said the reviewers watched a different cut and that Cyclops will appear at the end of film and save Jean.

Bad times those days in the X-Men forums :csad:

Yeah, I remember that. I was so excited for that film. I saw it at the theater and was not happy. There were speculations that Sentinels would be the enemy, and it turned out that there was a sentinel, but it was a ******ed scene in the danger room where wolverine cuts its head off and he apparently was on the head when it hit the ground because he came walking out from behind it.

The Juggernaut story was just wrong.

All this time Prof. X had a twin brother? WTF? I wonder where he was during the Xmen First Class movie? I could go on...

This was bad, really bad. And just confirms for me that Nolan's bat films are a total fluke success for WB and what it tries to do with it's superhero properties on film. They truly have no clue.

I am not as pessimistic as other hypers here. WB will be making other superhero movies. Hollywood is just to low on creativity right now for them not to take advantage of comic book mythology. I believe we will see a Flash movie in the future. However, I don't think they'll announce anything before The Dark Knight Rises and Superman comes out.

Oh, and can we get back to real suits made from fabric from now on please? WITH SHOES!? :)

Which reminds me... do you ever see Hal's green toes in the movie? :D

[troll]This never would've happened if Hal Jordan stayed dead in the comics. We would've had a Kyle Rayner movie and I bet that would've been uber succesful![/troll]

Just a little bit of my Kyle-love seeping through. :)

I never noticed. My girlfriend did. She said she was looking at his feet to see how he pointed them when he flew. The toes weren't jumping out or anything, but they're there.

As long as we're on the topic of body parts, the only thing I heard from the crowd as we were leaving was some guy complaining about how all he could look at the whole movie was Hal's package. I couldn't help but let out a chuckle. I honestly never looked at his junk.

V for Vendetta was fantastic Watchmen is highly underrated .

Perspective, Ghost Rider cost 110 mil and made 228 mil back.

GL cost $300 mil and needs to make that back and then some with an even worse rating. I don't think it'll be able to do that.

We'll find out for sure once it's released if audiences connect more with the film than critics did but I find it doubtful that it'll connect to the point where it can make back it's budget let alone make more than that.

i cant believe the idiots actually invested that much and expected it would be that profitable when its an unknown with an unknown name really and already negative feedback from the jump
