Early May and late July are the best times to release these films. It makes competition more managable. June has largely been bad news for many CBM's.

Still stand by my point that the critics have a problem with the mythology of GL and not the movie itself. I still feel that we fans are going to love it.

Maybe, just maybe, it would`ve been better to make a movie about the Fall of Hal Jordan and Kyle Rayner.

Lucky you. I'm the moderator, so I gotta look through all this stuff. :argh::funny:

I never understood why the May date was never taken by a DC movie, even Nolan's. It's always been a good spot. Though this Friday is the last day of school for a lot of kids in my area. Not sure how it is everywhere else, but I wonder if that will help it out.

^^ You indeed have a tough task. I think that WB should release their cbm's a little early May release has always befitted Marvel so far.

Most seems to be saying the film is uneven. I don't think the mythology has even rated a mention.

Drew is one of the last people I'd expect to have a problem with the mythology. He gets stuff like this.

Well they'd have serious competition from Marvel for that spot for at least the next 2 years(The Avengers, Iron Man 3). Not sure they'll have anything up their sleeve that'll be big enough to muscle them outta there.

IDK what seems to be a problem with the movie because it feels that ive already seen it and thought it was so faithful and awesome. So idk...People just like to compare comic book movies even though the mythologies are completely different. I think the critics are too cynical to enjoy a movie like this.

Who cares..i think im going to love it so **** the rest.

*cough* Batman. ;)

People have to admit that characters like Batman and Superman and their mythologies are just MUCH better and take themselves more seriously than GL so they are easier to be successful comicbook movies. I never expected this movie to be DK. I just want it to entertain me.

Not every review has been negative guys. It's mostly been mixed reviews saying its alright but could have been much better.

That is what I think, even if any of the other actors had portrayed Hal Jordan (like Nathan Fillon, Bradley Cooper or even Justin Timberlake.) Hal is a character that was devoid of any personality in the Silver age, and now in Geoff John's Secret Origins he is a goofy Tool before becoming a Green Lantern, nothing could be done about that part.

If Superman actually punches somebody in MOS, then it'll make at least Iron Man numbers for sure.

I am sure I can count on the critics to give MoS movie a tough time, especially since it is from the director who gave Sucker Punch.

This film needed to be better than alright.
The only films that needs to be better than alright are Batman, because its a sequel, and Superman, because it is one of the most famous characters that havent got a proper treatment nowadays.

Eh If it entertains me, i'll be happy with it. With a mythology like this you kinda have to be safe. I just hope we can get a sequel where they can go all out.

It depends if the movie is good or not and Superman is just a better character to be translated to the screen than GL.

It feels to me that they just didnt have money to make the other Lanterns come to Earth to fight with Hal Jordan...

You've got some strange logic. So everyone below Superman and Batman can live with mediocre? Riiiight.

Not for the next 2 May's. TDKR has no reason to move. It's settled into the spot it's predecessor did big in. So there's no way they're moving that one. And that's it for Nolan on Batman. Next one after that won't be out until at least 2014(and that's pushing it) and will be in largely the same position as the new Spider-Man reboot(a ? as to how audiences will react to it).

I was joking.

maybe GL is feeling the backlash of movie reviewers that are sick of the genre.
