I just bought and watched the blu-ray collectors edition, and although I loved the revisit to this I really feel that Quentin's Death Proof took away from the experience I was getting and expecting from it.
It just felt out of tune with Planet Terror and all of the trailers. It was good as a standalone feature, especially when considering how it turned the slasher genre on its head, making heroes of the victims instead of the killer and appreciating women much more than the usual slasher film.
