Haven't read the story? It's not based off the games its based off one of the stories and there are other Spartans.

Indeed, the one Latinoreview read was the first script by Alex Garland (you can actually get hold of this version) which was based on Halo:Combat Evolved but then it was rewritten by somebody else before the project died but now these pieces of concept art are for Stuart Beattie's spec script (a script which is shopped around as opposed to being commissioned by a studio) he has written based on the first novel Halo: The Fall of Reach, currently being shown off to Microsoft I think.

There's 4 more spartans IIs in another dimension along with some Spartan IIIs. And in the comics there was a girl SpartanII that was in the reserves, but she could have been killed when the Covenant orbital bombarded earth.

I really like what I read of Alex Garland's script. It seemed fairly true to the game and at the same time was well catered towards being a film. Sunshine was one of the best pure Scifi movies I've seen in a long time, and it was largely thanks the the edge-of-your-seat writing that it had (coupled with Danny Boyle's excellent direction). I think that his script would have went nicely with Niell Blomkamp's direction, but I'm guessing we'll never see that happen... Heck, I'd be quite surprised if by the time this thing gets made, Blomkamp is even still attached.

I remember reading 3/4 of the first book. Didn't they cut the MCs balls off and inject him with something. That is why he has no sex drive. I remember reading something along those lines.

I'm pretty sure that his cybernetic implants / nano machines control his sex drive. Castration seems a bit extreme, even considering all the other effed up stuff they did to create him... Also, Master Chief would have a squeaky Mickey Mouse voice if he didn't have ghoulies.
