it looks like that terminator is not anymore ''IN''. it did have some good action abut it was a bomb in US.


i dont know the story of this videogame. but i saw enough that i know that if the same action would be on a 150 million budget that i would watch it at least 3 times.

I have a feeling like most people here. If District 9 is a hit. With the Critics and the Box Office. I say Neil Blomkamp will be directing Halo. With Jackson Producing it.

Honestly, If anyone has ever seen the marketing videos for "Halo 3", Neil has the right look of Halo. Check Below if you dont believe me.

Why has it taken me so long to discover District 9? That movie looks to be fantastic. I really hope it lives up to my expectations.

If the movie is a critical and financial success, you can bet your ass Halo will be re-greenlit. In fact, I'm sure that's why Jackson and Blomkamp took this movie. To show that they could do Halo justice.

I don't know. With some money spent on the Alex Garland script, which I need to get a hold of *wink wink*, and money spent on armor being made and weaponry (which was used in one Halo 3 commercial), I don't think it would be very difficult to go into production late this year and film for 2011 release date. I am unsure if the Alex Garland script will be used because the talk was that it would be a 250 million dollar movie and it was a rated "R" script which I don't think they would release even though I would want them to. EDIT: That is why, I've been told, the script was dumped...mainly because of the cost.

It is kind of been an unspoken truth that this movie was made to show the studio what Neil is made of. If it does well which I think it will do okay and is a critical success than I'm 100% sure we will get our Halo movie.


Any speculation on how it should be told...from Master Chief, Cortana or a group of Marines point of view. All including Master Chief in action. I say this in the inability to develop the character of a cyborg and how much more of a hero and amazing he would be to the troops in the movie. He would seem more of a legend from their point of view and then perhaps the last act being solely his journey in battle alone.

That is exactly what I think and I think this movie will be a mild critical success and do alright at the box office. It will probably be a good sci-fi movie.

Halo is a huge franchise. It made more money opening day from games sales of Halo 3 than any media opening ever...it beat movie openings. It has a wide fanbase and I think the studios were idiots for not greenlighting that movie.

Definitely, keep the same voice actor from the games he has a badass voice.

I don't see a Halo movie being R, the game isn't that gory. Now Gears of War, that NEEDS to be R.

True as well. Halo honestly can be done in the style LOTR was done in. Gears...Now thats a differernt story entirely. The game is really gory. Halo on the other had isnt.

For Chiefs costume I'd say go the route with Iron Man. Cause we all know the suit is plastic but once the CGI in on...Its looks stunning.

Also for Sgt Johnson what does everyone think about Ving Rhames playing him?

"Beattie has also written a Halo spec script, based in part on Eric Nyland’s novel that acts as a prequel to the game trilogy. Beattie seems to pin his Halo hopes, to some extent, on the fate of Tomorrow. “It’s not something I can direct right now, because it’s a big $100 million-plus film,” Beattie said. “Maybe in a few years, if things work with Tomorrow and if Tomorrow finds an audience, maybe one day, two or three movies later, I can get the reins of that and maybe direct that, because I would just love to see a Halo movie up there on screen. Which film would anyone rather watch first of Fall of Reach or Halo: Combat Evolved?

Personaly I'd go with Halo: Combat Evolved and after the trilogy is made have Fall of Reach as a Prequel.
I have been dying to see a Halo movie. but id rather have the 3 games made into movies before the Reach film. Dont get me wrong Fall of Reach is a goos story but I really want the 3 video games made into films first

This guy was the main writer for the upcoming G.I Joe film.

To his credit he also wrote POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl and Collateral but everything else that he is credited for isn't anything to brag about.

His writing for my taste caters way to much to "typical summer movie" type of writing studios gobble to just make a buck and the studio that has the rights is 20th Century Fox so that is worrying enough.

I hope they don't pick up his script, this movie needs a writer with a tad more credibility.

Just those couple of words scare me too. I really dont want FOX making this film...

Hopefully that the case. If that doesnt happen this will be the FOX Halo Film

A running time of A hour and 40 mintues....Has nothing to do with the game at all....and will reuse shots from different films in this film.

Also...One last thing...I would like the Teaser Tralier for Halo 2 and 3 to be done if we get our live action film. It would be a nice nod to the fans

I know thats my reaction every time I remember that such an incompetent group of fools own the filming rights.

Like you said I really hope Peter Jackson like James Cameron has enough control that Fox won't even tinker with their (Neil and Peter's) vision for a Halo film if it were to be green lighted with Neil directing and Jackson producing.
