Anyway, I'm not saying Shia is a bad actor, just bad choice for Spider-Man. A better choice? IMO Adam Brody, he has the look of a good older college Peter Parker plus hes not a bad actor either. Shia, regardless of age, just looks too young and I couldn't take him seriously in the role.

Anyway, pages back I posted my idea for Spider-man 4 (though I would remove "4" from the title) and I thought I would share for my n00b friends and anyone who may have missed it.

Here we go again lol...

If Gerard didn't play a big, muscular beast, with a beard in 300 would you have chose him to play Kraven? No. Gerard looks like the type of guy who wants to expand his acting chops in different movies, trying to do what he does best, that's the reason why he went to play a guy in a romantic flick (early this year or was it last year?). He's trying to become a better actor and try new roles. What would people think of him if he were to play another big, muscular beast, with a stache? It would tell people that he is a very limited actor with not much talent.

Think of it as if you were in Gerard's point of view. Their are plenty of other actors who are capable for the role who don't need a stache, or have to look exactly like the part. That's why we have costume designers, and makeup artists.

But Gerard Butler hasn't done a role like this.
And due to his interest in The Escape from New York remake, I doubt he is using The Daniel Day Lewis formula for role selection. Hell, if the Spiderman franchise can rope in serious actors like Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe and Tobey MaG$$, then I don't see why Gerard is an exception.

^^ Exactly, and to be honest, I don't have a problem with other actors playing Kraven as long as they do it well. However, I really think Gerard is one of the best choices for the role.

The only reason adam brody is even mentioned is,you saw him in that scene on the o.c. where he had on the spider-man mask & gave his girl the upside down kiss,other than that, Hell no!!

No Jackass, it has to do with him being a brown haired, brown eyed 20something year old with a quick, comical wit and a real life obsession with comic books. He embodies Peter Parker and thats why the Spider-man refernce occured on the OC

I've actually never watched the O.C.(which now looking back, I'm thankful), so I wasn't aware of anything about his character. Still hes a pretty decent choice.
