Iron Man 3 The Official IM3 Trailer Thread! - Part 1

I'm saying it's pointless, his regular armor takes on tanks but he needs Hulkbuster armor for "enhanced humans"?

Lol wut?
Also, seems like he'd have to make a whole bunch of new arc reactors to power all the suits. If all the arc reactors are powered by the element he created in IM2, then he'd need quite a bit of it and would have to have his element synthesizer assembled at all times to make it.

Well the Hulk is an enhanced human lol
We really don't know how enhanced some of them are AND if they might be like Arnim's Dough boy

No Hulk is a super human, I'm CERTAIN none of the characters of this movie will be anywhere near his level.

I would agree IF he just brought the Hulkbuster. But he brings ALL his armors. Why should/would he leave the Hulkbuster behind? Better to bring too much than too little.

Why would he need an army for enchanced humans anyway, he went toe to toe with frickin' THOR!

After Thor juiced him up 4X as powerful as he normally is. Granted, he's moved on to more powerful armors since then.

But as to your querry I think the answer lies in the Superbowl IM3 trailer. Powerful armor is one thing but it's no substitute for not being able to be in more than one place at a time. Just like Tony(in armor) can easily handle all the weight of those falling people but that doesn't mean that's all it takes to solve that problem.

Only after being charged by Thor's lightning lol
I think it may also be
Mandarin and the ten rings take over part of the govenment it's not just AIMs enhanced humans

If the other suits are drones, then maybe they don't require arc reactors to work. Or maybe Stark can spread out (and dilute) the power over multiple drone armors.

And maybe Tony is using the Iron Legion as a diversion....something to keep AIM and the Extremis Soldiers occupied, while he concentrates on singling out Mandarin and/or Killian for the inevitable mano-a-mano duel. That would explain why he brought Hulkbuster along --- and everything else but the kitchen sink. (I don't think Stealth armor, for instance, is going to be useful here, since a full-on frontal assault is about as UN-stealthy as it gets; but it's clear that Tony brings *everything* in his closet to the party.)

I'd remove that link if I were you.

Soooooo, no one noticed what I just said -__- lol

About what, the Extremis guy shooting blasts from his hand?
Yeah, if it's true to the Extremis comic, then an Extremis-ized person basically becomes a superhero/supervillain. Superstrength (car-flinging superstrength), near invincibility, breathing fire, shooting power blasts....hell, they can probably shoot laser beams out their asses, too.

It's just that in the comics, Mallen was the only one who was Extremis-ized. In this movie, it definitely appears that Mandarin has created a whole army of Mallen-types. Which would explain why Tony needs a whole durn Iron Legion to finish them off.

The new trailer is amazing, the tone of the movie seems spot on and I think Tony's journey in this film is going to be incredible to watch.

So many big shots and hard to make them all out but that Rhino armor at the end caught me off guard and who was the flying guy Tony dives onto?

Some of us are thinking that maybe it's the
modified Mark 1 armor :yay:

The Hulkbuster armor is a bit pointless, since there is no one anywhere near Hulk level in this film.

I think it's just something for fans to go "Oh look Hulkbuster armor", which is kind of a waste imo.
The "Hulkbuster" armor isn't meant to be a Hulkbuster though.

[blackout]MARK XXXVI
HEAVY DUTY BRUTE ARMOR v.02
Designed for heavy duty tasks that his standard armors cannot handle, TONY STARK creates the HEAVY DUTY BRUTE ARMOR with sheer strength in mind. Equipped with state of the art hydraulic systems powered by a modified ARC REACTOR, this armor enables IRON MAN to take on the strongest enemies.
-A.K.A the Hulkbuster Armor. Not explicitly termed as the Hulkbuster though, since that's not the intended purpose. It's prototype is the Mk. XXII / v.01, and is smaller and more humanoid.[/blackout]

Except he didn't build the Legion to take on enhanced humans. Stark has been holed up in his basement since the Battle for New York build suits for all occasions. I just so happens that this is the first time they need to be used.

he didn't make the hulkbuster for this movie...he just has a bunch of armors for different purposes and has to fight an army in this movie so he just brought all his suits. You are over-thinking this

Would be freakin' awesome if he actually refers to it in the movie as the Hulkbuster.

i need the trailer in my life, like right now.

Question though
Does Pepper also undergo the Extremis treatment ? We saw a shot of her strapped in the same device the Extremis soldiers were strapped into.

And if so then why do you reckon that is ?
