yah i hope the film does ok for her so she can get other roles with a better film and all that.

with the smashingly amazing reviews this film has been getting... look for it to be an absolute box office record breaker for sure!

yea probably though there is times were films with terrible review/are crummy films actually do well in the bo. Though i bet the film this weekend will probably take in 2-15million probably maybe more if lucky.

I've seen a number of reviews that have shredded the movie, but had faint to moderate praise for Kristin. I guess that's about as much as she can expect from this.

As they say... as long as they spell the name right ;) - and in Kristin's case, we KNOW how often that's been screwed up before.

I still haven't seen the movie. I hope it's still around next weekend when I'll be able to. :(

Surprisingly, Variety's review seems to be one of the more milder ones.

Extensive wirework, choreographed by Dion Lam ("The Matrix" trilogy), is handled impressively by the cast, in particular Kreuk, who has a heavier workout here than her Lana of "Smallville" foretold. In a pleasant surprise, CGI appears only minimally, as when the heroine's flesh wound is miraculously healed by her trainer, Gen (Robin Shou).

I may go see the flick tonight. My wife was really mad at me last night 'cause I didn't want to go see it. For some reason she really wants to see a Street Fighter movie.

Of the few reviews I've read, the going consensus seems to be "it's so bad, it's actually good." For those reviewers, it's a movie to be laughed at. Pic may turn out to be one of those cult classics after a few years, especially after it hits cable and more people get to see it.

dream all you want. It has to be good, but have lack exposure for that... not suck

Okay, how truly bizarre is it that the only two "fresh" ratings the StreetFighter movie received over on Rotten Tomatoes (from actual critics) were from both Variety and the New York Times! LOL!

I wonder if they are just distanced enough to look at the movie on a purely lowbrow entertainment level, and in that vein, they consider it successful enough?

Oh well, girlfriend is still looking adorable and being very sweet in her latest interview:

She should wear red more often.

Gone, but not forgotten!

Kristin's landed a really nice sounding supporting role in a remake of Ben-Hur miniseries.

I think she just wanted to go to Morocco. ;)

Ben Hur Starts Production
Posted on Wednesday, May 06, 2009 - 05:07 AM
General TV News

The legendary story of Ben Hur began principal photography May 4, 2009 and is being produced for the first time for television. Based on the original 1880's novel by Lew Wallace, the 4-hour miniseries is directed by Steve Shill (Rome, The Tudors, and the #1 US box office hit Obsessed) from a script by Alan Sharp (Rob Roy).

The project is financed and distributed worldwide by London and LA based Alchemy Television Group and co-produced by Drimtim Entertainment of Spain, Muse Entertainment of Canada and Zak Productions of Morocco in association with Alchemy and Akkord Films of Germany. The miniseries is being produced with the participation of Antena 3 in Spain, ProSieben in Germany, ABC Network in USA and CBC in Canada. Ben Hur is shooting in Ouarzazate, Morocco until the end of June.

It is 50 years since William Wyler's panoramic and hugely successful feature film Ben Hur won 11 Academy Awards.

Executive producers on the project are Manuel Corbi (Art Heist), Michael Prupas (Human Trafficking, The Last Templar), Frank Konigsberg (Guyana Tragedy, Ellis Island, Last Don), Dirk Beinhold (Afterwards) and David Wyler, William Wyler's son. "We are re-inventing the underlying material for a new generation, but the themes of friendship and forgiveness are timeless," says Wyler.

The international cast is headed by Joseph Morgan (Master and Commander, Alexander) as Ben Hur; Stephen Campbell Moore (Bank Job, Wallis and Edward) Ben Hur's best friend who becomes his enemy Messala and Emily VanCamp (Brothers & Sisters) is Ben Hur's love interest, Esther.

Other stars include Ray Winstone (Indiana Jones, The Departed) as Quintus Arrius, the Roman Admiral who becomes Ben Hur's adoptive father, Kristen Kreuk (Smallville) as Tirzah, Ben Hur's sister, Alex Kingston (ER) as Ruth, Ben Hur's mother, Hugh Bonneville (Notting Hill, Iris) as Pontius Pilate, the governor of Judea, Lucia Jimenez (The Borgias) as the courtesan Athene, Miguel Angel Munoz (The Borgias) as Antegua, Ben Hur's friend and fellow galley rower, Marc Warren (Dracula) as David, a leader of the rebellion against Roman occupation, Art Malik (True Lies, The Living Daylights) as Sheik Ilderim and James Faulkner (Bridget Jones Diary, The Bank Job) as Marcellus, the Machiavellian Roman senator.

Director Steve Shill is using the majestic backdrop of the natural world for the setting of the story. He is filming the famous chariot race, for example, in an oasis in the Moroccan desert where thousands of people will crowd the hillside, watching the horses and chariots compete in a frenzied and dangerous battle. "We are making a very realistic Ben Hur and it will be gritty, truthful, striking and surprising," Shill says.

Shill's production team includes Jonathan Stamp, the historical consultant who worked with Shill on Rome, Production Designer Benjamin Fernandez (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Gladiator), Director of Photography Ousama Rawi (The Tudors) and Costume Designer Simonetta Mariano (Tales from the Neverending Story).

Producers Simon Vaughan (Coco Chanel, Diamonds) and Roger Corbi (The Lost, Reflections) concur: "This is a huge production with a budget of over $22 million US. We have an outstanding cast and crew and expect to raise the bar of what it means to produce event drama."

Together with Executive Producers Manuel Corbi of Drimtim and Michael Prupas of Muse Entertainment, they have managed to harness the best creative and financial resources from the world-market to deliver a global network event. Corbi says, "Every century needs its Ben Hur and we are proud to be involved in the Ben Hur of the 21st Century. We want to give a contemporary dimension to the story." Prupas adds: "We are thrilled to be making Ben Hur for the world market, especially in the current financial climate when broadcasters are spending their budgets very carefully."

Alchemy CEO, Carrie Stein says, "Ben Hur is a must have for broadcasters around the world. We are extremely grateful for their efforts creatively and financially in helping us launch this enormous production. Ben Hur is a tent-pole event that comes along so rarely and we are extremely proud to be part of this project."

Is Ben Hur the movie with the chariot race? I can see Kristin playing a role in that time time period. She would look gorgeous!!

Well, yes...
except I think her character gets leprosy. :shock
. Still, I'm happy for her. :)

nice to hear she is doing other work, and hopefully will stay as far away from season 9.

And hopefully you'll stay far away from this thread if all you can do is be rude.

Seriously, wtf?

So much for my trying to not put anyone else on Ignore.

i am not tryin to be rude kristin's lana for most of the show's course has been a bad part, and the last two episodes of the lana arc really did suck. I have nothing against her as an actor, her lana character just sucked the life out of smallville at time.

Rene, You know probably better than some that i've done a lot of Lana and or Kristin supporting over the years. But the boy has a point. If they're going to write Lana the way they have the last few seasons, I prefer Kristin to take other work.

Side bar:
I've been rewatching Smallville from the first season (again). I really miss season 1-2 Lana.

Consistent characterization, a shy and sweet performance, and hot as hell.

Just rewatched Nicodemus. *drool*:wow:

I don't agree about your rudeness, or about your opinion of Lana.

I wonder what you'd think of people who came into the Tom Welling Thread, or the Erica Durance Thread to talk about how much Teh Suck they think they are? Just. Not. Cool.

But hey, it's a free forum. So you're free to be rude, and I'm free to now ignore you. Carry on.

well really only time i did enjoy the lana character was season 1-2 when she was the girl next door type of character but then season 3 they just started not knowing what to do with the character and she always got the silliest and stupid storylines and all that. That is when i started to dislike the character, yes at times from season 3-now she was ok/bareable others it was just plain suckage to me.

What the hell was the screaming all about? :oldrazz:
