armor wouldn't make any sense because their suits are powered by their imagination and will right?

It depends. I could see Kilowog or Ke'hann wearing armors.

^Yeah but that wouldn't make any sense since their ring protects them.

Your forgetting attacks which can go through or around the constructs. A GL is only fully protected if they have a force-field around them at all times. Armor would make attacks like this less dangerous if they got hit. GL's sometimes get into unarmed combat, as well. At the very least the GL costumes could be made with highly dense yet flexible material far beyond what can be made with Earth technology.

yea, but being that the suits are created by the wearer with their imagination all one would have to think is, okay I want my suit to be skintight, sleek and not hinder mobility, but to be made of the strongest
material in the galaxy then that would be what the suit is. ya know.
I would not really like to see armor myself, just the textbook GL suit, with maybe some texture upgrades and a nice shiny raised glowing emblem.

True.

I believe Kilowog should wear an armor. It might look strange to the public to see a giant hippo-like creature wearing tights. :hehe:

Well, yeah but a lot of things about GL might seem strange to the public... Most things, actually.
The only real way to get around that is to embrace it. I say, put him in the body suit, keep Sinestro purple, keep his moustache, etc...

Sinestro's moustache is a must, but I think they should make him red. It would be faintfull to the Comics and look good. And I think Kilowog should wear his second costume from JLU.

No way! Sinestro has to be purple.... Yeah, technically Korugarians are red but that counts for very little whenever he's pretty much only ever been coloured purple in the comics. Sure, every now and then some wildcard artist colours him red but it never takes... And that because people like Sinestro PURPLE...
In fact, DC shoulda just changed Korugarians from red to purple in the last crisis... They unofficially are anyways...

If he's purple, people might not take him seriously.

I doubt it. Especially with all of the other cosmic craziness on screen. I think people'll just accept it.

Red is more intimidating. Or, at least, a VERY dark purple.

I wonder what the designs for the other GL's will look like. They're obviously not gonna do a bigass alien with a skin tight suit on.

Maybe the color or armor will be embedded into them somehow but still see they're out texture, (this doesn't go for Hal of course) But I'm very interested to see what the costume will look like.

Of all the superhero films that I want to see the costumes translated right, it's GL. It's such an awesome suit and pretty damn hard to mess up (then again, aren't most superhero costumes?)

And here's the catch: It's a big ass sci-fi film! You can get away with a costume like that, as oppose to dealing with Nolan-esque realism. This has nothing to do with dumbing things down because it's sci-fi. After all, since the Lanterns can use their imagination and will for protection, they don't need to be cloaked in defense armor.

No-one's saying it's bad. It's just not necessary.
I have no problem with changing some things but their has to be a good reason to do so.
Otherwise... Well, what's the point?

Just to change it of course. duh.

After reading the script i must say the majority is good there are definately some things I would change but overall it's a fun ride and a good origin film.

Yeah, I agree.
The only thing i'd really change, and i've said it before, is that terrible recharge kiss at the finale... Euuchh!

Actually, Sinestro's more of a magenta color. (heh)

well since the script has gone through a few rewrites and now with campbell on board those little things probably been changed/removed/modifed and all that.

I liked the recharging kiss. :O

This seems to be a real fanbase dividing issue. To me, If a GL runs outta power and doesnt have his Lantern... He's screwed! And thats great! It creates tension like when Spidey used to run outta webfluid mid swing in the early Spider-Man adventures...
If they keep this scene, whenever he recharges in the sequel, im gonna be thinkin' "Gee, Hal! Why dont you just tongue Carol again?"

It's just ridiculous, Hollywood sap... And there's definitely a place for that stuff in other comic book movie properties (Superman comes to mind) but not Green Lantern.

i don't like it, but it fits as well with hal as it does with anyone imo

yea they should probably drop it to just keep the comics ring has to be charged in the battery lantern thing. i havent read the whole first draft myself but does it feature hal having his ring's lantern to charge up on at all?
