X-Men The Official MCU X-Men News and Discussion Thread

See, that pic is giving me Fenris vibes.

Real twincest vibes.

yeah, he has kind of a rich villain vibe.
Now that I think about it, if Marvel wanted the Archangel arc on the reboot, he wouldnt be a bad choice.

Side note-I NEED Paul Tazewell to handle the costumes.

what has he done previously?
He won an Emmy for The Wiz Live, a Tony for Hamilton and is about to win his first Oscar for WICKED, as well as his second Tony for Death Becomes Her

seems like a good resume. He hasnt worked on a cbm yet, tho that doesnt mean he wouldnt nail the costumes, obviously. Once we get a director announced we could take a look of his/her usual collaborators...

the "sad" thing is that she will turn 16 this year, and by the time they film next year, she'll be 17, so basically a 18 years old Kitty.
Id honestly would love a 14-15 years old Kitty. That would be a bold move and something not seen on Fox old X-Men movies: a very very young mutant joining the team. Most studios sign +18 actors for these projects, and to me, it really takes away part of the magic/charm.
If an actress being 15 now is an issue cause by the time the movie comes out (an sequels) she'll be 18 ...

Then they'd have to be looking at 11-12 y.o child actors now for them to still be that young by the time the movie comes out

An it's a lot harder to find a kid that young who can not only act, but , that kid is still growing/ developing and you don't know what they'll be like on 3-4 years down the line

Not to mention all the limitations that come with child labor laws

Netflix and Stranger Things producers made an excelent job signing a talented group of kids. If platforms and movie directors can find great young talent.... so can Marvel. Thats what open castings are for :yummy:

Home girl has several more years of looking 15 LMAO.

Not sure that's the argument you think it is...

Those kids when from looking like this...

yes, basically the same but older.
whats your exact point?

I really don't want to see a teenager Kitty.

Iirc, Dofp was the only film in which Kitty wasn't a teenager and a student.

I prefer someone over 20 for that role.

Simply that even if you get your 12-13 y.o. Kitty (in whenever the character first appears ) they are going to still be older by the next time we see them in the role

An at that age their going to change a lot more between movies then if you cast slightly older to someone who's already grown into their looks more...

Which will give the character a more consistent appearance over the course of the movies
(Especially given how long it usually takes to put out squeals these days)

Unless you want them recasting a new kid for each movie to keep her young looking

I get what you mean, actors age, but it is what it is. To me, its not a big deal.
If the Kitty actress start with 16 years old and by the next sequel she is 19, thats fine. Time passes on the movies too, its not a big deal, and its not like the actress would suddenly look 30, you know? a look difference is normal and people would accept it just fine.

I'd definitely prefer a younger X-Men cast. To me, it could be Harry Potter meets Stranger Things. I'm totally fine with them aging and looking different movie to movie. Just age the characters alongside them.

I get wanting to see a younger cast, but I think having HP/Stranger Things vibes would be more suitable and beneficial for The New Mutants instead.

That way you can grow with them and watch as they graduate into X-Men.

Wait, are we talking endgame Stranger Things/Potter or how old those kids were starting off?

Because an X-team of all middle school aged kids feels a bit more like Power Pack than X-Men.

I've been a fan of her since Once Upon A Time In Hollywood , and she's been my fan choice for a while .

If they got her that would certainly be great.

I gotta say, of the names being tossed around for this project , I am very pleased they're looking at some very talented actors .
