X-Men The Official MCU X-Men News and Discussion Thread

Big stars cost money, and Marvel wants these actors for the long haul. That is why they are casting them young. Its the 2016 Tom Holland model.
Well aren't they bringing back Ryan Reynolds, RDJ and Hugh Jackman for more Marvel movies? They aren't being thrifty with their casting choices.

Also comparing Tom Holland who played 1 character, is different. Once again Spider-Man aren't the same as the X-Men. The X-Men is a group. Even with the Spider-Man reboot, they included RDJ in every marketing piece.

Where do you think the big star salaries are going?

There's just no big star energy so far. I don't care about Stranger Things, haven't seen it, and I feel ambivalent when someone from that show appears in new blockbuster movies.
That’s a big “so far”, though. Literally nothing is official, a few roles have some rumored names attached, and their status as up-and-comers/semi-well known names within their age groups are true regardless of whether or not you care about the stuff they’ve been in.

I watched the entire episode with Sneider. Along with mentioning Harris Dickinson as Cyclops, he suggested that the Russos are probably not involved with X-Men because he described it as being "in close proximity" to the Avengers films. That lines up with my theory that the Production Weekly posting is spot-on.

I’m starting to wonder if a director is already attached, which could explain all the casting rumors* floating around.

*explicitly talking about Dickinson and Sink, the other names have zero credibility.

My theory is that the Russos are casting them because they are going to have Black Panther/Spider-Man in Civil War type roles in one or both of the two Avengers movies, before their X-Men movie happens.

X-Men vs The Young Avengers. :o
Spider-Man was a teen in Civil War and he went toe to toe with Captain America, fought both Falcon and Winter Soldier at the same time, and was instrumental in taking down Giant Man. Just saying.

That's Peter Sue for ya :funny:

that last part doesnt make any sense and is not the reason, other tweets arent saying that particular quote.
We already know Feige and co. arent doing an origin film with F4, so the X-Men would be no different.

Just take some pointers from TAS about human-mutant relations already being turbulent, and go from there.

Thank Lord that we are done, with these X-Men Origins movies!

I must admit, I have no interest in a scene where they’re all sitting round saying stuff like “wow with that costume and one eye someone should call you Cyclops!” Or lines like that.

“You’re a real marvel, girl”
“He looked like some sort of ice man”

I think they are going to take the Spider-Man Homecoming approach. Only been around a couple of years, and everything is still new, but no origin story.

So the X-Men Apocalypse route. :o

who’s ready for some AI generated x-men posters with the cast with eight fingers etc!

if the 20-30 years old report ends being true (pretty likely), we can now speculate with many potential rising stars joining the X-Men film. There are quite a few hit shows and movies these latest years, so Im sure 3-5 future x-men are already in front of us right now :starstruck:
any guesses?

After the pandemic and the Hollywood strikes, Marvel has stopped making big announcements. The last movie slate we received was years ago. WONDER MAN went into production with zero official announcements about it. They're currently not announcing any cast members for Avengers 5 & 6. We know zilch about what movies are even in the pipeline.

It makes me wonder how far along the X-Men film is. It's an obvious priority, and all the signs point to it going into production in the near future. For all we know, they already have a director.

I still have the theory that we are going to get a Black Panther/Spider-Man in Civil War level role for the MCU X-Men in one of the Avengers movies, that will serve as their introduction before their movie starts filming.

I agree with that and hold the same theory. My wonder is if the rumor of Avengers and X-Men going into production concurrently holds any wait.
