Marvel Studios is hardly faithful to the comics. The Infinity Gauntlet Saga in the comics is quite different from the movies.
Except the Secret Wars comic ended with the multiverse being restored.
Sure. But there is zero precedent for the belief that they are going to permanently merge universes together. Especially when they plan on telling alternate universe stories post-Secret Wars.Marvel Studios is hardly faithful to the comics. The old Ultimate universe was restored too with many dead characters being revived.Really? I thought that was DC's Infinity Crisis. Didn't Secret Wars essentially 'destroy' the old Ultimate Universe and move Miles into the 616?
I think Marvel moved a few things back to status quo too but it's been a while since I've read that era
imo, letting the multiverse stuff to continue beyond Secret Wars is a terrible idea. I'd say let "The Multiverse Saga" properly ends in Secret Wars.
Just like the Infinity Gems story ended post Endgame.
There are still a lot of ideas and stories that can be explored within the scope of Marvel histories, no need to keep relying and milking on multiverse stuff.
Sadly, D&W made a billion, so some multiverse **** will stick around.
Uh, the infinity stones were still used after Infinity Saga. They played a heavy role in Marvel Zombies, which came out last month. And the What If series showcased the full power of the infinity stones multiple times.imo, letting the multiverse stuff to continue beyond Secret Wars is a terrible idea. Jackman busting slobs with a twenty something Jean and Ororo will be SO gross.
Jackman’s Wolverine isn’t going to be part of the 616 timeline series based on what Ryan Reynolds has said in interviews about the sequel to Deadpool & Wolverine. Sounds like that is going to be another Elseworlds story. He also can’t leave the X-Men universe because he is the anchor of that universe. If they want to do more Deadpool and Wolverine stuff, just have those characters get stuck in the new 616 timeline.
It obviously wouldn’t be a 1:1 adaption but that’s pretty obviously the point. It makes senseExcept the Secret Wars comic ended with the multiverse being restored.
